Okay, well I didn't really understand the criteria. I was going by favourites there, and not who I think are the greatest wrestlers of all time. That's a totally different list, and depends on what we consider makes someone great. I.E is in ring more important than drawing power. If it's in ring, then Mitsuharu Misawa is up there. But for sure, Hulk Hogan has to be considered because of all the money he drew. Anyway, this is a nice chat to have when we're all going through stressful times outside of this forum!
Oh yeah, I listed in my opinion, the best wrestlers of all time for what they did for the sport.

The Rock and Stone Cold could possibly be on that list too.

So if it was 10 all time wrestlers it would be:

    Ric Flair
    Dusty Rhodes
    Macho Man
    Hulk Hogan
    Sting
    Bruno Samartino
    Bruiser Brody
    John Cena
    The Rock
    Stone Cold

I would add The Undertaker and Chris Jericho to that list

I mentioned above about adding him.  Chris Jericho though?
    You did? Sorry, my bad.

I implore you to rewatch Savage/Steamboat sometime and focus on the ref. He works as hard as the two wrestlers getting in position to count all those near-falls. It’s exhausting watching him. Gorilla Monsoon’s son by the way for all you trivia buffs.

Yeah i haven't watched that in years. I do kinda remember Joey Marella running around counting the falls now that you mention it.

1-Savage/Steamboat "bell match"  I know some of you prefer the WM3 match but if it wasn't for this one then it doesn't get as big as it did.
2-Honkytonk/Savage "guitar match  Another Savage gem.  Honkytonk bashed him over the head with his guitar.
3-British Bulldogs/Hart Foundation  Pick any one of their matches.  They are all great.
4-Flair/Rhodes These two masters would put on a show whenever they squared up and it was always a treasure.
5-Piper/Adonis WM3 The whole WM3 series is a masterpiece, it really is.  I chose this particular match though because it had Brutus Beefcake at the time without the "barber" nickname.  The match between The Beautiful Adrian Adonis and Piper was to be a haircut match and this is where Beefacke got the name "the Barber"!

    What do you think?

savage/steamboat "bell" match you mean the one where savage clocked steamboat with the timekeepers bell on the throat?
and i'm guessing the savage/honlytonk man guitar match was the one where honky smashed the guitar on savage's head? I think that was on SNME.

This match also stood out to me for some reason from SNME between Hart/Savage

Saturday Night Main Event!  YES!  That was where those took place!  They are the matches that you think they were too.

These were HUGE events happening in a non payperview show.  Some truly great matches on those nights.

I do remember them not finishing on time one night and a melee happened and they cut out to the next show, lol.  I subscribed to WWF the magazine and everything I watched was in the magazine including the rest of the melee.

Watched religiously every Saturday show or sometimes a special.

Jericho has been very good for a long time but I don’t think he’s ever been great.

    Hogan is the GOAT

I put Undertaker at a distant 2. Hugely popular, incredible ringwork...anybody that can sell that gimmick for that long is something special. Paul Bearer was integral to his early work and the transition of that was spectacular.

Unless you ask HIM of course lol

I liked him in WCW. Like when he had Jericho Personal Security (Ralphus). Never really got into him in WWE. But I do like him and listen to his podcast from time to time. I read one of his books too. It was alright. Not quite on the same level of Bret's or Foley's books, but pretty good in it's own right.

    I couldn't stand Paul Barer...

You have to remember that he changed up his mage a little bit over the years.  He rode a motorcycle for a while and lost the tombstone hat.

I actually liked him more in the late 90's when he was with Kane, and he talked like a Southern preacher.....

He was great in the early 2000’s. Boring as hell since he returned.
Thanks.  He came into MMA like a whirlwind and left just as quickly.  Super exciting as a big guy that moved that quick.

Was going to look into him in WWE but will not now, thanks.

I actually watched their Summerslam 2003 match (their next match following that WrestleMania I assume) the other day (WWE uploaded it onto Facebook) and that was a great match too.

My true tenure as a wrestling fan (tuning in every week and caring) spans from the late 80's until about 2000. So WWE Network has been great to watch post-2000 matches that I've never seen. Mostly just Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels matches.

Wasn't Kurt Angle the Olympian?  I vaguely remember him coming on the wrastlin scene.  That was about when I checked out.

Yeah. Kurt Angle represented the USA in wrestling at Atlanta 96 I believe (I'm not American so it meant nothing to me when he debuted in WWF).
