we send it all to america for the yanks. i don't even know if you can actually buy that shit here. but there are much better beers in Aus then coopers or fosters, most are the small independent types, not like the CUB big branded stuff. a few wineries have got into brewing beer and getting some awesome results, like Knappstein. but yeah, i don't drink alot of beer, but if i am gonna drink something cheap and local i'll normally get Toohey's Extra Dry. at $32 a box, it's cheaper and way better then XXXX or VB or any of that shit.

Yeah, it's not cheap, but I think it's worth it. I don't get it all the time, only on good occasions, it's not really something you smash after a hard days at work. It's more for with a nice dinner or something.

what's the beer here in chicago that they sell in walgreens for like $3 a 6 pack? i want to pick one up just for the fuck of it. it just can't be good.

binny's beverage depot is a solid spot. only a few blocks from my apartment and one of the best beer selections i have seen.

never bought a beer in Walgreens, but it sounds like Miller High Life. the high life isn't a terrible beer.

Binny's rocks. so many to choose from, i get lost in there sometimes.

God no. It's so awful. Always tastes like it's skunked to me. Too bad - I heard some guy say he didn't buy fancy beers because he tasted Heineken and didn't like it. What a terrible representation of quality beer. I'd rather have a BMC Lite. And they sell that crap for, what, $25 a case?

The Champagne of Beers is clearly the best of the BMC products. It's my greatest guilty pleasure in beer-drinking. 8-)

Heinken is ok once a year, but there are so many good beers out there now that you don't have to subject yourself to mediocre swill, yet i know people that will only drink Budweiser from a bottle.

America is in the midst of its second beer revolution and there is just a ton of great, great beer being produced. 81 is right, in these glorious times, don't subject yourself to swill. Smoke and drink the finest... always. Those are my words of advice.

and if you ever in a bar that has cask aged beer delivered via a hand pump, order yourself a pint of it. trust me, it's like the zenith of beer and what it should be.

the microbrewery scene over here has picked up in the last 5 or so years... due to certain TV programmes about the industry and what not..

if its a really hot summers day, just been out cycling and i was thirsty enough and the pub only sold Fosters on draught then i might have it.. but otherwise I'd much rather have a local real ale ... or not even local... just one that has an actual taste. Fosters tastes like sparkling water that's had some iodine sprinkled into it.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    amen brother.

i've had one or two stinkers to be fair... but the ones like Italian Chestnut beer or Innis & Gunn honey oak aged beer are sublime... and are worth have the odd stinker for.
