that is all I'm pointing out to you.

If this performer read the things you said for a laugh it would hurt.

You have the power to be positive with your humor which is a gift by the way

Humor is uplifting, helps us forget our worries, makes the world a better place.
When it is negative or sarcastic it trashes and hurts.

I'm sure Christina could care less about her performance.

are you saying she cares or doesn't? cos that sentence above is worse than her singing.

you are correct - i - like Christina - made a mistake, for which i couldn't care less about.

I am also blaming the large odd tasting brownie i ate last night for my difficulties today in spelling/grammar

but if everyone was to be nice on all the threads it would be utterly boring... it would just be like visiting a forum where everyone was sycophantic and gushing about a certain topic... The Porch for instance... that kinda forum? the place where, even after being told their membership is going up to $250, people will still comment with "OMG! It is so worth it... this band rocks! thank you 10C"

    ;)

    +1

I'm glad other people are sick of the stupid robotic voice too. That thing is so annoying.

halftime show was brutal. sound was horrible, other than 'i've got a feeling' their songs totally blow and what is up with the mr. roboto like crap from the one guy, is that supposed to be singing? ugh and women like this shit? horrible. would rather have seen a country act, at least they actually perform music.

cristina aguilera - career ender? this notion of drawing out the lyrics to ridiculious lengths has to stop. the national anthem is not a pop song you losers, sing it as it is supposed to and actually with the correct lyrics.

    AMEN!

  • I have heard Christina sing the National Anthem well before. I guess that she didn't feel the need to practice or something. I've also heard that previous celebrity anthem singers have lip-synced to a recorded version. It's all ridiculous. Just get a marching band or someone that specializes in singing the anthem from now on.

even at the end of it did you notice those 4 jet fighters flying as fast as they could away from the stadium!

Those jets were so awesome——especially the planning of it. Flying over a COVERED stadium!!! Ha!

I did not see her performance but saw it later on the internet and it was not good.
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

I don't mind that she messed up the lyrics. That can happen to anybody. But the female/diva/prove how good I can sing/sound like I'm auditioning for Deliverance 2 thing drives me nuts.
  • As expected she shouted the whole thing, she's like the female equivalent of Chad Kroegar. No subtlety to her voice at all. It's a shame because she clearly has the capability, but really needs some coaching on when to hit the powerful notes and when to pull it back a bit. Her approach meant that she had absolutely nowhere to go during the final few lines other than to do even more OTT shouting. I mean to each their own, but to my ears it was bloody awful.

this might be worse than christina's anthem, in fact, it might be the worst of all time:

The Fray at last night's national championship

I was listening to it thinking, 'is this even the national anthem?' It was definitely a bit strange but I wouldn't rank it the worst. The worst are those attempts when I just feel embarrassed. This was more like, 'huh, that was a bit odd.'

I gave it the benefit of the doubt at first...but then....hell on wheels. It was terrible. They were like a bad cover band trying to be really cool or something. Excrusiating at all levels.

how do people get chosen to 'sing' the National Anthem?

we went to Baltimore a few weeks back and saw an Oriole's game at Camden Yards. The dude that sang the anthem absolutely nailed it. I said now, that is how it needs to be sung. I thought maybe since the anthem was written just a few miles from there, they don't screw around with it.

man... this thread was all kinds of funny. 93% by me I have to add. ;);)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
