Am I the only one from New England possibly thinking of driving to this thing if it's Alpine?

How far is it for you? I'm from PA (central) and I'm definitely considering driving. I think it will be a 12 hour drive for me...
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....

The arguments against Alpine Valley are all b.s. If Pearl Jam announced they were doing this at the Gorge we wouldn't have a thread like this, even though Alpine would be a lot closer to all the Hotels and transportation than the Gorge is.

I'm just going to bump this up a bit for those questioning the area.

But, no one is SOL, there are plenty of rooms further from the venue and plenty of people that would be going to/from the location.

Again, IF. Shits getting old. This is a 3 month old thread already...

So I made a hotel reservation but am strongly considering camping at Snug Harbor instead. I've done the camping thing at Deer Creek countless times but don't know what to expect with this place. Has anyone ever stayed there for a concert? Shuttle too and from AV is VERY appealing.

Driving from upstate NY. Google says it is only 800 miles and a 13 1/2 hour drive, but if I drive like a real person, then maybe only 11 1/2...

I like this option as well. Do you plan on driving or flying to Wisconsin?

I'm driving from Iowa. You could probably check a tent if flying.

ANYONE ever stayed at Snug Harbor? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

I just made a camping reservation at Snug Harbor. This is one of the closest campgrounds to the venue (15 miles). Here are the details if anyone else is interested:
    http://snugharborwi.com

$20/person/night for tent camping. You have to pay for 3 nights since it's a holiday weekend so $60/person. One car limit per campsite. Additional cars must park in the lot adjacent to the campground.

Fish fry on Friday night, breakfast served Sat and Sun morning. Kareoke after the show Saturday night.

Roundtrip party bus is $40/person/day. Usually leaves at 3pm, but they'll adjust based on when the music starts. The bus stays in the lot until the end of the show so you can pack a cooler and leave it and anything else in the bus if you want. Kinda expensive, but nice to not have to worry about a designated driver.

Call to make a reservation. You need a credit card to hold the reservation. They will charge your card the full amount on August 2nd (based on Sept 2nd check-in). No refunds after that. Otherwise, you can cancel before then without penalty.

Sweet! I booked at Bark River-- but this is much closer, has a shuttle, and seems much nicer.
