I am going to love every single second of the disaster festival. Got my rooms booked, got the car gassed up, all I need now is the tickets to the show and I'm golden.

Okay...well Alpine Valley is 14 hours from my house according to map quest so that's not that bad. I'm just trying to prepare like the next guy.

I hear ya. This is our usual vacation money for this trip. We also put away money for regular PJ shows each year too. I too hope there are some other US dates this summer. Hopefully out west. I have friends out there I'd like to see.

I just can't pass up this opportunity. My wife's sister and her husband are going to fly in from Tucson for it so it's a chance to hang with them. We don't get to very often.

I posted my thoughts about this in anoter thread, but I have to think Pearl Jam has a lot more bargaining power to venue shop for their 20th anniversary. They can hold out to find a venue that is willing to let them have a much higher than normal number of fan club tickets. I think most places would be willing to jump through a few hoops and make some concessions to the band in order to host what will most likely be a very well attended and hyped event.

I know that but this being such a special celebration why at this venue and i'm talking about seats not lawn what was the % of seats they got for the SPECTRUM alot more that they will be able to secure at AV , again to me it makes no sense to have it at this type of Venue i would of prefered an ARENA ....

If you are arguing amphitheaters suck, I won't argue that. They definitely do. I would have rather had 3 nights in Vegas instead of some backwoods town with nothing to do, but thats the way it goes. I will make the most out of it. The Spectrum was a special case because of it closing. MSG only got the normal 12 to 20%

I think for a special 2 night stand somewhere (vs an entire tour), a deal would not be too difficult to reach. PJ or promoter can promise TM a flat rate and then just past the cost on to the ticket buyers w/o it being a normal TM "processing fee" or whatever the hell they call it these days. Same with holding the money. I am sure a deal can be made about who holds it. Worst case scenario: a independent 3rd party holds it in escrow.
