I'm actually kinda excited if its Alpine. I just looked at flights and getting into Milwaukee is hella cheap. Even for Labor Day weekend. I might be able to swing this.

Just don't assume that ticket prices are going to be what you normally are used to. At least not for the seated section.
Will somebody spare me having to read through this entire thread and tell me the percentage chance that this happening at Alpine Valley and when it might happen? Just give it to me straight, doc...

I'm not too worried about that. Even if it's 200+, it will still work if I can get a 199 roundtrip airfare like I can now.

As of right now...def. Alpine....not sure of the dates
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......
You know what why would PJ hold this in a venue where they can't secure all of the seats knowing how many fans will wan't them, if this is a celebration of 20yrs of them being a band and of us supporting them all this time shouldn't this be about them given back to us a bit more than say 10% of venue seats i don't get this at all ... Nothing against AV but they probably could of done it in an ARENA like the 3shows in Philly .....

First of all there isn't a venue where they could get all of the seats and 2nd there will be plenty of lawn seats if you want to go. 3rdly Alpine Valley holds twice as many people as the Spectrum.

I just hope they do some more shows. Beside the mini Canadian tour..
I need any fix. And a disaster festival in the sticks isn't gonna cut it :(

Just guessing..

I am going to love every single second of the disaster festival. Got my rooms booked, got the car gassed up, all I need now is the tickets to the show and I'm golden.
I will be patient and wait for something semi normal
I hear ya. This is our usual vacation money for this trip. We also put away money for regular PJ shows each year too. I too hope there are some other US dates this summer. Hopefully out west. I have friends out there I'd like to see.
I just can't pass up this opportunity. My wife's sister and her husband are going to fly in from Tucson for it so it's a chance to hang with them. We don't get to very often.
I posted my thoughts about this in anoter thread, but I have to think Pearl Jam has a lot more bargaining power to venue shop for their 20th anniversary. They can hold out to find a venue that is willing to let them have a much higher than normal number of fan club tickets. I think most places would be willing to jump through a few hoops and make some concessions to the band in order to host what will most likely be a very well attended and hyped event.

For this to happen, either the band or promoter would have to compensate ticketmaster for the lost revenue due to less tickets sold thru them. There would also be legal issues about who holds the ticket sale proceeds until the show actually happens. Since TM usually sells a majority of tickets, they are the one's to hold most of the ticket sale proceeds until after the show happens.

I know that but this being such a special celebration why at this venue and i'm talking about seats not lawn what was the % of seats they got for the SPECTRUM alot more that they will be able to secure at AV , again to me it makes no sense to have it at this type of Venue i would of prefered an ARENA ....

If you are arguing amphitheaters suck, I won't argue that. They definitely do. I would have rather had 3 nights in Vegas instead of some backwoods town with nothing to do, but thats the way it goes. I will make the most out of it. The Spectrum was a special case because of it closing. MSG only got the normal 12 to 20%
.

I think for a special 2 night stand somewhere (vs an entire tour), a deal would not be too difficult to reach. PJ or promoter can promise TM a flat rate and then just past the cost on to the ticket buyers w/o it being a normal TM "processing fee" or whatever the hell they call it these days. Same with holding the money. I am sure a deal can be made about who holds it. Worst case scenario: a independent 3rd party holds it in escrow.
Hey i will do my best to try to score Tickets to this event but you know at least 60k will be trying for these tickets for each show , there will be plenty of people being shut out ....

No I'm really clueless on the whole issue. I just noticed today that there was a 50 page thread topic about where PJ20 might be.
