Wow, that sounds horrible. I had that for a while, and with some rest and wearing good shoes it went away on its own. Did you get a second opinion?

Been putting up with it for over 4 years and have tried everything - the night boot, cortizone shots, orthodics, virgin sacrifice, and while I can manage the pain, it never goes away. Doc say I now have a shit ton of scar tissue in there from the tendon fraying and healing over the last 4 years. It ain't no kind of fun...

You tried all that SCIENCE stuff, but you forgot to let Jesus into your heart with the power of prayer. You deserve the pain, IMO.

    non-believers deserve pain??

and not a very Christ-like attitude

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Mr. America is joking. Like me, he has to keep laughing the pain away or the world will tear his heart to shreds.

Well if that doesn't drive you straight to the bottle, I'm not sure what will... Besides, you obviously care more than I do. You feel compelled to help; I'd rather watch it all burn. You hear me, Johnny? Watch it burn!

The Mrs had it... 6 turned into 8 weeks... She had the bunion and the heel spur and the plantars all done at once... Also had her toes straightened... I would advice highly against the last one, that never worked well and she can't really move those toes anymore... The rest of the surgery went really well...

Thanks, BD. I think I will avoid the toe straightening. I assume they just tie a cord around the toe tip and the other end to a horse and have it pull?

Sounds like a problem with warts, eh? It isn't. Anyone had the surgery to fix this issue? How about the bone sawing and steel rod pinning of a tailor bunion? Just kind of curious as to what to expect for a recovery time and to see if anyone had any issues as a result of the procedure? They say I'm supposed to wear a walking boot cast dealy for 6 weeks and then all three of my major foot problems will be healed. Oh yeah, there's a third problem too, but I can't remember the name. It's supposed to heal by itself during the 6 weeks of non-use.

Basically, I have a freak foot. Wanna see?

    I really don't like Crocs.

No reason you should. Right after first tearing my plantar tendon, they were the only things I could wear. Always black ones though, none of those pastel colored ones or whatever. Then I found the combat Croc and kind of stumbled upon what great river crossing shoes they make. The combat croc has the velcro heel strap and thick soles with traction that stick to wet rocks. Ther are even bigger than normal crocs, so they are basically clown shoes. If they were any bigger, I think I could walk across the surface of water.

And I only wear them in the backcountry which is good for two reasons:

A- there is almost nobody to ever see me wearing them

B- anybody seeing me wearing them can be easily dispatched on the spot and buried where nobody will ever find them

my friend had both feet operated on the same day for bunyon surgery. bad move. I think she went a little crazy from being temporarily, partially disabled for a month.

i know a guy who had the pf surgery and i think he went back to work, i don't think he rested like he was supposed to. good luck.
