Sounds like a problem with warts, eh? It isn't. Anyone had the surgery to fix this issue? How about the bone sawing and steel rod pinning of a tailor bunion? Just kind of curious as to what to expect for a recovery time and to see if anyone had any issues as a result of the procedure? They say I'm supposed to wear a walking boot cast dealy for 6 weeks and then all three of my major foot problems will be healed. Oh yeah, there's a third problem too, but I can't remember the name. It's supposed to heal by itself during the 6 weeks of non-use.

Basically, I have a freak foot. Wanna see?

Wow, that sounds horrible. I had that for a while, and with some rest and wearing good shoes it went away on its own. Did you get a second opinion?

Been putting up with it for over 4 years and have tried everything - the night boot, cortizone shots, orthodics, virgin sacrifice, and while I can manage the pain, it never goes away. Doc say I now have a shit ton of scar tissue in there from the tendon fraying and healing over the last 4 years. It ain't no kind of fun...

Yep, I've had it on both feet, had the surgery when I was in high school. I played softball and the pain just got too much to bear, so I had to have it.

I did have a pin put in each foot for 6 weeks and wore a cast for the duration, and I still have a wire in both feet. I had the surgeries separately, so it was 6 weeks each time.

It did help the pain tremendously. Now when I had it done, it was major surgery. Now a days, it might even be laser surgery and should be able to minimalize scarring, etc.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

I had it pretty bad for awhile. I bought some arch supports for my shoes several years ago and it went away. I have them in every pair of shoes I own. If it's summer and I'm wearing flip-flops or something like that for awhile, it starts to come back.

Thanks! I'm hoping to put off the right foot for as long as I can. The left one is the real problem.

I would fall over and die without my custom orthodics.. at least it quickly starts to feel that way when I am not wearing them.

I had consulted with Rex Ryan a few weeks back and frankly, his "medical" opinion after viewing the pics seemed a little inappropriate...

Is this due to your epic backpacking in Crocs?

    Serves you right then ;)

Nobody, and I mean nobody, disses my Crocs. No, that's not correct, everyone does. :D For the record, I don't hike in them, I cross rivers in them. In fact, I lost one in the Tetons last year, so if you happen to see it, Wyo, let me know. Might be in Jackson Lake by now...

Ziggy, tell the people about my Crocs... Ziggy? You out there?

I'm guessing that the sooner you get this surgery, the better off you'll be, Eyed. Will the surgeon scrape your scar tissue too? You'll probably feel better with that gone.

Scraping scar tissue doesn't sound like much fun... I think he used the words, "break it up" whatever that means.

I go under the knife on 2/21 and am told to expect 2/22 to be a bitch even with the pain meds.

Then again, I'm just a big fat baby bitching about this to you. I'll stop whining.... soon.

Aww, you'll get through it, just keep thinking that it's only temporary, and if you're on painkillers, you shouldn't feel the pain (if they're good ones). My entire right hand, wrist and forearm is covered in massive scar tissue, and I can't wait to get it "broken up" ;). It hinders my movement.
