Just ran through the new album a few times....really digging it....some catchy riffs, drum beats and choruses.

Can't wait to see them live again!

Other than Skin and Bones, do the Foos have any other live vinyl albums?
Yeah rare cuts (or something like that). Came out about 5 years or so on record store day.
I never realized that was a live album. Thought it was just b-sides. Thanks! Anything else?
Bunch of live cuts on Spotify, from across the
life of the band. I have them in a playlist and made my own live record. AMAZING.

Idk. First few listens in and I can't really say that I'm a big fan yet and that stinks because I like the band a lot. I guess that I just expect them to provide a straight ahead rock album each time because that has been their one real lane for so long and they're really good in that lane. Kind of the opposite of Weezer. Weezer have been almost self-sabotaging for nearly 20 years now and we expect Rivers and Co. to deliver something ludicrous like a secret album with 30 something piece orchestra and songs about the Audible app because we are used to it. Hearing the drums and guitars on the foos album was just strange because  compared to 95 percent of their back catalog, the instruments are less ro k oriented and lean more towards pop and dancey beats which is ok but it's just not what I turn a foo fighters song on for. I know they're influenced by Bowie, queen, prince... but to my ears it's just strange at this point. Hope it will grow on me with more listens but first impressions have not impressed.

Still haven’t been able to give this a full listen. Hope I don’t like it straight away. Means I’ll be bored with it in a month. Maybe the changes I’m reading about here might make for a more interesting listen, that will reveal itself slowly over a longer period of time, might be wrong, hope so anyway.

Really getting into the new album with each spin.

Anyone ever hear their Live in Toronto vinyl bootleg? I’m assuming it’s from a radio broadcast?

  • I'm streaming it right now, I couldn't wait for my copy to arrive in the mail.  Loving it so far!
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
  • I'm really enjoying it too. First listen I wasn't sure what I thought other than I knew I didn't not like it, I wasn't expecting such a poppy album. But the more I listen to it the more I like it.

After a couple of listens I’m digging it. Very Foos but with the obvious detour. I’m picking up some QotSA in some of the tracks.

Really digging it after a week of listening to and from work in the car. Can’t believe people shelved it after one listen.

Exactly..... Like all music, just give it time and a few plays, you never know where it will end up being the best part of your day.

Wow! Listening to the recording of one of their Wasting Light surprise gigs from 2011 at the Dragonfly Hollywood right now on their SiriusXM channel. I was at that show! Such a rush the whole way they revealed those shows via sort of scavenger hunting and making a mad dash to the club to get a wristband in time.  Seeing them lead off each show by playing Wasting Light in its entirety two months before release plus an extended set was incredible.

Anyone savvy with recommendations on how to capture it?

This may be the best thing Jagger's done in years!

the music is decent, but the lyrics are trash. sounds like he just wanted to write something about covid and forced it out.
