i was just at dogfish last weekend!!! dammit how did i forget to ask!
i was hoping for some more IBUs, but the Belgium beers are pleasantly warming up to me.... Weyerbacher Verboten is awesome at 30 IBUs... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/392/58482
What interests me the most about this beer is the wondering how many Ten Club members/die hard PJ fans will all of the sudden be turned on to craft beer in general because of this beer.
One thing that no one around here can deny is the fact that 10Cers seem to instantly gravitate towards anything and everything that PJ associated themselves with - whether we are talking about opening bands, charities or poster artists. This could turn out to be the best collaboration that DFH ever did (for business)...

Yes, and it is soooo unique, I just had some the other night and it was like inhaling and drinking a Pumpkin scented Yankee Candle, but i'm not sure if it was a Spiced Pumpkin scent or Pumpkin Pie scent yet.... I guess I'll have to go to target and pick them up.... regardless, the Southern Tier Pumking and Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin are at the top of my list.... and my list is getting long
I wonder what the label will look like? If done well, it could be very cool. So many craft beers have awesome names and packaging.
On another note, I had Alpine Pure Hoppiness tonight, this is a DIPA, the stuff is absolutely awesome,I love this stuff! Brewed by a small brewery in San Diego, doesn't get distributed outside the area.
Obviously their are not enough folks here that care about Pearl Jam and craft beers.
...Ha!
Agreed! and id have to agree with everyone else on this year's dfh punkin, watery not pumpkiny. Weyerbacher still best. As far as getting the pj20 beer and not drinking it, thats just a waste, drink the beer, save the bottle. This beer type will go bad in 3-4 months, its not gonna gain value from being unopened and stored, like a fine wine or champagne would. its low alcohol and fruity, will lose it flavor quickly. If you feel the need to hang on to an unopened beer to add to your pj collection, go for it, but i think the empty bottle will do just as good.

It really is amazing it appears that this beer came from this thread! Did anyone get any off-line acknowledgement from their emails to DFH or PJ that this is something they would consider when the idea first popped here?
Also, Stone is going to show the movie at their bistro. If anyone has never been there and is in the area, go check it out, awesome facility and they have great beer!

I talked to a guy I know in Florida who is tight with Dogfish and he gave a timeline of probably 6 months (just his opinion) of when this would be available. This is just what he said, I am sure he does not know 100% of the information right now though.
I heard November
Agreed, I hope you are right. I was disappointed to hear a longer timeline than that.

I just watched a show called Brew Masters where Dogfish Head did a special beer with Sony called Bitches Brew for the 40th anniversary rerelease of the Miles Davis album.
It would be totally sweet if we could get Dogfish to do the same for the PJ20 festivities, and have it on draft at the shows.
Just read they are doing a Robert Johnson Hellhound on my Ale tribute beer.
10% IPA brewed with lemons.
You are my hero and this is the coolest thing ever. I can't believe its really going to happen!

You should be. There has to be a way for you to get one signed by Ed! Your idea, you would totally deserve it.

It wasn't an original idea, just a suggestion. For all I know this could have already been planned. Whatever. I hope it released and I hope it tastes great.

It seems highly unlikely this was already planned. So , take a bow, we are going to assume the idea started here!

Guess it is less "bready"... But I like the spices.

what is the name of the bar and where is it?
Nope. Beyond the emails I sent a handwritten letter to DFH. Could be a total coincidence. Either way this is still cool.
