  • Who gives a fuck about that "so and so had the best unplugged"! They were all good!! AIC is my fav! I remember seeing it for the first time and being blown away by Laynes voice. Such power from such a frail man! Kurt sounded amazing too, I always liked his style and will always have love for him. And baby face Ed just melts your heart and fills your ears with awesomeness! When he got up on his chair and started writing pro-choice on his arm was one of the moments that made me fall in love with PJ! Ed's fuck you I'm going to speak my mind whether you, MTV or the president likes it or not was one of the many reasons I fell so head over heels for this band...and it's also why I think their unplugged kicked so much ass!
  • When he got up on his chair and started writing pro-choice on his arm was one of the moments that made me fall in love with PJ! !
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

I know I'll probably get flammed for this but...

TBH that's one of the things I kind of always disliked about PJ and musicians in genenral...

Ed always tells everyone to open their eyes and make their own opinnions but he has no tolerance for those who don't share his views...

Aren't you just as much a sheep if you follow a musician as blindly as following a party's agenda or politicians?

I'm not looking to start a political debate here by any means...

    +1: Pearl Jam unplugged rocks.

Then, I'd say Alice In Chains Unplugged.

Nirvana Unplugged would be my third choice.

    I have 2 say PJ wld b numba 1
    Nirvana numba 2
    Hendrix 3
THAN Alice in Chains as 4

I am not a huge Nirvana fan but their unplugged performance of Where Did You Sleep Last Night is absolutely incredible. Kurt Cobain left it all on the stage for that performance.

PJ's unplugged performance of Porch isn't bad either. :)

Yeah, Porch was cool, but the rest of the Unplugged show was much like a regular PJ show, as was noted before in this thread. Never saw AIC's set. Nirvana's set was flat-out legendary, start to finish. Loved that they didn't play "just the hits" A few of them sure, but then some stuff right out of left field.

For acoustic PJ, I'll go with BSB 1992 (Daughter premier/Patriot/Angel), 1994 (Walking the Cow/YL when it was still kinda rare/Let Me Sleep/Wash), and 1996 (Slow Corduroy/No Code goodness/wish they sounded like this all the time). Boston III preset had an awesome song selection, one we'll likely not see again. Probably won't see that again. Benaroya was awesome too. Didn't care much for the Gorge preset though.

The best part of Nirvana is watching them tour every 18 months now. Truly an epic band that just keeps going and going.

hello people... clapton? he had one of the best unplugged shows ever. nirvana and clapton are the only two that should have "legendary" statuses.
pearl jams would have been better if they had waited a little longer to do it. the show was an acoustic rendition of ten. they didn't even sound that good, either.

Clapton and Nirvana are definitely legendary.

I'm pretty sure the Page/Plant reunion was pretty legendary, and a pretty kickass performance.

Not a big fan, but Kiss reunion on Unplugged sans face paint is legendary

Layne Staley lookin like death but singin his heart out, and while it's far from his strongest technical performance, it manages to be maybe the most powerful performance that Unplugged ever witnessed.

I seem to remember a quite a bit of hubbub over Neil Young's and Dylan's Unplugged.

It seems like Mariah Carey or somebody like that had one that was hugely popular.
  • People aren't mentioning Neil Young? That Unplugged performance is so great. Easily better than Pearl Jams effort.

    1 nirvana
    2 neil young
    3. AIC
    X. Pearl Jam

Probably will have my arse kicked on here for this but I didn't mind Bjork's Unplugged. It wasn't my favourite but I liked it. She's such a kookie wierdo! I liked the glockenspiel they used, sounded great.

  • Nirvana was a departure from what they normally do, while PJ's was just sorta a run through of their normal songs.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Another one that I'd sorta expect an ass kickin for....Korn had a few tunes that sounded pretty cool.
