LL Cool J set the standard and with that performance changed the audience for rap/hip hop...
And set the standard for using clear deodorant when going shirtless. They basically had to edit the video around when he was lifting up his arms. emmmbaaaaarrrrrraaaassiiiing.

I loved when Screech came out and did his unplugged solo set.

Greatest TV Show EVER? Now that's a tough one. My personal favorites ..
The 70's .. Threes Company
The 80's .. The Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Perfect Strangers, The Wonder Years, Sesame Street, The Cosby Show
The 90's .. Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Simpsons, Cowboy Bebop, Seinfeld, Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
The 00's .. Futurama, The Sopranos, Family Guy, American Dad, Curb Your Enthusiasm
The 10's .. Boardwalk Empire
I would go with:
1. Nirvana
2. AIC
3. Pearl Jam (Sorry)
this is correct
Nirvana - its stance in pop culture as an iconic performance as the funeral of grunge makes it #1
Aic - solid intimate show that catered well to the acoustic environment and showcased staley's vocals and revealed the sensitive dyanimc in his lyrics.
PJ- It was a Pearl Jam show without the amps, they didn't really use the acoustic vibe to their advantage for this performance (they saved it for 2003) and their catalogue was limited.

having seen 0.0000000000000000000001% of every concert in history, i can still safely say that nirvana unplugged is the greatest live performance of all time.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.
Nirvana Unplugged lives up to and deserves the hype. Even if the tragedy of the end of Kurt's life didnt happen, it would still be an iconic performance. The outside factors though make the Unplugged performance one of the great nights in rock history. Every single track is mastery. "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" gives me the chills.
As far as a TV show, I have never had the urge to watch it. Listen to it, yes. Many times.
Pearl Jam's MTV Unplugged is an amazing amazing concert....
However, Nirvana's MTV Unplugged is a piece of legendary music history. They way they arranged their songs and used new instruments to completely transform their sound was incredible. I'm not a big Nirvana supporter at all but even if you hate them, you have to appreciate the Nirvana Unplugged show as one of the greatest music television episodes of all time.

AIC Unplugged is close IMO and it is a wonderful/amazing performance... but it isnt as "legendary" as the Nirvana Unplugged.
