They barely played a 70 minute set as the headliner..
band was so loud and un-tight, you couldn't distinguish the end of one song from the start of another,
David Lee Roth laughed and joked himself through most of the lyrics, if he remembered them at all, skipped the entire "i've been to the edge" section of the lyrics to "ain't talkin bout love".. (WTF! best part of that song)
and Alex Van Halen had the biggest (and most underutilized) drumset I have ever seen..
barely a "tap tap" sound outta the whole monstrosity..
Eddie and Michael Anthony were the only two decent performers..
When they walked off and the lights came on.. I was looking around to see where to stand in line to get my money back..
that being stated.. they seemed to get their act back together with some of the 2007 shows I have heard..
sounded great!

I hate to get on the "Bash Billy" bandwagon, but I was really disappointed. I went into the show excited to see them play. Billy bitched about the crowd size, the venue and whatever else was on his mind.

Yeah! He started playing heaps of new songs and then said he'll play some old ones and the crowd cheered. Then he goes "Don't you like my new stuff?" and everyone shouted "Boooooooooooo" So he told us all to get fucked and played some more new stuff!

Roger Waters on the Dark Side tour. I saw Australian Pink Floyd Show do Dark Side a couple years before, and they did it way better. I left Waters thinking 'meh'.
Thats what makes music GREAT: I saw the Dark Side tour too, and i thought it was really good. To each his/her own.
I didn't think Waters was BAD, I just felt like other bands do what he's doing better.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
I couldn't seem to get past the first 4-5 songs on their album. :?
7/2/06 - Denver, CO
6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2
Bob Dylan ... man he was awful
Fleetwood Mac ... we travelled in a blizzard for 3 hours to watch 15 minutes of disappointment then walked out when Stevie Nicks was arrogant enough to turn and thank "her band" for supporting HER music
Sonic Youth ... shit
Mudhoney ... Shitter
“There should be a place where only the things you want to happen, happen”
Stone Temple Pilots...in San Diego, 2 years ago or so. I was really excited to see them, and could not have been more disappointed! Scott Weiland sounded like an intoxicated mess, not to mention he looked like a greasy skeleton. To give them some credit, the rest of the band was pretty tight, but it couldn't make up for Scott's terrible-ness. Luckily, the band that opened for them (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) was quite good, so the show was not a total loss!
“I don't know what this means. I don't think it means anything.”
-Eddie Vedder
Great songwriter, don't get me wrong here - but my GOD was that show boring.
wow, really?? :  one of the best live shows I have seen.
for me:
Bob Dylan- He wasn't in to the show at all. Didn't even come bacl out for an encore. Granted, it was the Houton live stock show and rodeo; but the bands play 13 songs total cause it's like a festival set. Dylan just seemed bored the whole time. Sound in the Astrodome sucks though so may have been a factor.
Blink 182- A friend of mine in high school dragged me to this show cause his mom wouldn't let him go alone. I like a few of their songs (Adam's song, Damnit, all the small things,) but man did they suck live.
Tool- good musicians for sure (Danny Carey especially) But I was sooo bored. I mean 8 maybe 10 songs over two hours with a bunch of visuals and the band hidden in a sillohette of darkness? "Ions" during the encore was boring cause it was just a zapping sound and lightning bolt across the screen. May have been a few minutes but felt like an hour. They had dropped "Aenima" off the setlist, wish they hadn't it would have kicked the show up a few notches. That song rocks- I bet it's sick live.
Clapton in 2009 in London. It was the 5th time I'd seen him. Previously he'd had Doyle Bramhall as a support guitarist and for 2 of the shows Derek Trucks and some superb drummers. I think these guys kept Clapton on his toes. 2009 seemed lazy, the support musicians were ancient and looked like they were looking forward to their cocoa before bed. And the tickets were expensive.
Saw Clapton in 2010 with Steve Winwood and he was excellent. Seeing them again at the Royal Albert Hall, and also seeing Clapton on his own. He's touring with the same band that he and Winwood used, so should be good. I've heard loads of shows from when he had another guitarist in the band and he seemed quite often to hide behind them, rather than be pushed. On his own there is nowhere to hide. Luckily, the tickets for his own gig were much cheaper thanks to a friend.
The Seahorses. For those who don't know, they were the band formed by John Squire, guitarist from the Stone Roses, after they split up. The album wasn't particularly great, which should've been a pointer. 70 minute set, including the encore, and it was just dreadful. He must've been snorting half of South America to think that band were any good... their second album never got released so there was something good to come from it. That, and Third Eye Blind, who supported, were ace.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
The Cure at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas (December 13, 2008)- So boring! No on stage energy, just really awful. Worst name value band who have songs I like that I've ever seen.
U2 at The Rose Bowl (October 24, 2009)- They just sucked. Too many new songs which all sucked. Just too big, no heart whatsoever. Huge letdown.
Smashing Pumpkins at KROQ LA Invasion (September 15, 2007)- They headlined this huge show and Foo Fighters were on before them and blew them away. Bad setlist, no energy/chemistry on stage. They were better when I saw them in 2008 though.
Morrissey at Coachella 2009- I was pretty wasted but he sucked from what I can remember.

REALLY?????? I thought they were awesome but mind you, I did see them many years before that so maybe they aren't as good anymore??

O.A.R. Was good at first, but got bored about half way through. In all fairness to them, I'm not a huge fan of the band, just went along with a group of people that were. Seemed like an abnormal amount of bromance going on too.
