  • Roger Waters on the Dark Side tour. I saw Australian Pink Floyd Show do Dark Side a couple years before, and they did it way better. I left Waters thinking 'meh'.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

That's funny, I was going to say the same. Billy's voice is terrible live. Violent Femmes but I'm pretty sure a high quality live show isn't part of their act.

Bruce Springsteen(as i duck for cover> ) Just didn't do anything for me, and i saw him twice.

Peter Gabriel: Very good stage show, but the music was just OK at best.

Thats what makes music GREAT: I saw the Dark Side tour too, and i thought it was really good. To each his/her own.

Yeah, maybe it comes down to personal opinion sometimes. I love PJ and always think their fantastic but I have to say one of the best bands I have seen live were The Cure at Adelaide Entertainment centre going back about 9 years ago. They were just amazing. Primus are very good live too at the Thebby Theatre.

  • I was hitch-hiking one summer, got picked up by some kids going to the gathering of the juggalos festival. I fell asleep shortly after they picked me up. When i woke up, I was inside the festival with a mangeled bracelet made from pieces of other bracelets. I wandered around for a day watching some shows. And there are not even words for the performances I saw. A group of four white dudes dressed in matching fubu or icp gear. They all were trying to bump eachother to the back of the group, making themselves in the front like the leader or something. "Singing", "We don't give a fuck." Maybe 12 kids watching. 4 day festival. I attended 1.

"Counting Crows" 7/8/05 Atlantic City at the House of Blues... I had seen them 3 times before and loved it, but this show in A.C. was the absolute worst. The band was almost an hour late coming on stage and Adam was so drunk he kept dropping the microphone and couldn't remember half the lyrics and the crowd was so obnoxious, the entire experience turned me off of the band completely and I haven't listened to the Counting Crows willingly ever since. It was just awful.

oh, I also made the ultimate mistake and attended "Woodstock '99", and we all know what a crap fest that was, so I won't even go into the horrible things I saw during that ill-fated weekend!

  • I've seen a ton of bands and work in the industry i'd have to say Kid Rock. It was a joke!
    Paul D.
  • I'd have to say Citizen Cope. I've seen plenty of bad shows but none that I had incredibly high expectations for. But I dig CC's studio recordings but his live show nearly put me to sleep. Even the more fast paced songs were slowed down so that they were hardly recognizable. He's playing near me again in March...not sure if i want to give him another shot or skip it altogether.

Probably KISS the last go around. I understand KISS isn't for everyone, but I'm a casual fan, maybe slightly more. The first time I saw them it rocked, but back in September it was at times painful. Paul Stanley was having one hell of an off night vocally.

  • Sparklehorse in 2007, he just sort of phoned in his preformance and seemed emotionally detached from his songs. Sadly now we know why.

  • Hole. they headlined a festival in my town in the mid 90's and we all left halfway through their set. I love Hole, but that night Courtney was on a whole other level of nutso.

I really like Hole too but yeah, my friends saw her a long time ago and said she walked off stage because she had had enough or something like that. She still screams like a freakin legend even though she's a bit of a nutter.

I haven't been to many concerts but I guess the second time I saw Tragically Hip in '07 was rough, Gord looked drunk or "something," they didn't even do an encore.

My other disappointing moment was when Alice In Chains toured with Velvet Revolver, I wished AIC had done a few more songs or at least an encore, they are incredible and were barely on stage for 45 minutes.

Seen Aerosmith twice, once in 2002 which was my first concert, and again in 2003 w/ KISS (my first time seeing KISS). I think the one thing I can say about Aerosmith live is that they turn it up way too loud. You can't really distinguish anything...it just sounds like a bunch of noise, I thought.

Clapton in 2009 in London. It was the 5th time I'd seen him. Previously he'd had Doyle Bramhall as a support guitarist and for 2 of the shows Derek Trucks and some superb drummers. I think these guys kept Clapton on his toes. 2009 seemed lazy, the support musicians were ancient and looked like they were looking forward to their cocoa before bed. And the tickets were expensive.

I saw Aerosmith a few times in the early 90's and they put on a great show...at least back then. But it does not surprise me that the late 80's and early 90's would be the best years for them live.

You disagree on MY most disappointing live acts?? My expectations were that he would range anywhere from enjoyable enough to jawdroppingly good.

Did you see him with Gabby Lala? It was horrible. I was sorta into some of his solo stuff and he played a pretty good portion of Purple Onion, which I enjoyed, but HE was boring. They got blown off the stage by a band called Drums and Tuba.

Drums and Tuba is fun...I remember them back in my college days.

So I guess you saw Les in the wrong setting. W/ Gabby Lala...not my cup of tea. He always brought it whenever I saw him in Primus, Oysterhead or the Flying Frog Brigade.

I was underwhelmed by R.E.M. But the worst was probably Death Cab in Brooklyn a couple of years ago. They chickened out halfway through because of a storm and that half wasn't really very good. Crowd also annoying.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
