I'm sure the CNN poll referred to them as "undocumented workers" instead of illegal immigrants, too. Political correctness has made it so we can't even chastise those blatantly breaking the law.
So any chance you would support this bill?
No. We need comprehensive reform and this isn't it.

This is backdoor amnesty.
Why do you think it's back door amnesty?
What is your suggestion for reform?
hypothetical question?
Let's throw out everything that has been said about this bill....and let's say a bill that is one page long is introduced - And on that bill it states: .....only people who were brought here as children (would need k-12 documentation/as proof) can qualify and they cannot be over 30 years old from when the bill is signed ... The persons must either receive a 4yr degree from a University or serve 4 years in the military....at that point the persons performance will be evaluated and then determined whether he/she can actually become a US citizen.
Ofcourse a clean record and a clean back round must be determine before anything is granted........
I hope this bill does pass, i'm more afraid of people like the one's on this thread that come off as racist than some of the Immigrants i've come across. Most seem to be hard working individuals that had no other choice but to make a move to what they perceive as a better option for the survival of their Families ...
Senate Republicans have blocked a bill to grant hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children a chance to gain legal status if they enroll in college or join the military.
Sponsors of what they call the DREAM Act needed 60 Senate votes for it, but fell five short. The House passed the bill last week. It was a last-ditch effort to enact it before it Republicans take control of the House from Democrats in January.
Immigrant advocates viewed the measure as a step toward providing a path to legal status for up to 12 million illegal immigrants by focusing on the most sympathetic among them first. Critics called it a back-door grant of amnesty that would encourage more illegal immigration.

This is sad .....A lot of big time Republicans use to support this idea and now because they don't want to piss anyone off they backed away from it..... .. where is the progress? Where are the real solutions?
What a shame .... A real solution that could have benefited our country..... :cry
Go back into the shadows illegals ......you're kind are not accepted here....
Sorry that you were raised here...blame your life on your parents....... America doesn't accept your kind..

America is very accepting of people who wish to come here and don't break the law doing so.

I have to agree with this statement. Unfortunately, this is another case of the few ruining an opportunity for the whole (see: Legalizaiton of Marijuana). For all of those individuals who deserve the opportunity to go to college or join the military in order to become citizens, they must look at the immigration issue as a whole.
Another border patrol agent was killed this week. We need to address the problems of a porous border before we can put together an amended (a better) bill.
I support the DREAM Act; however, I support securing our borders and immigration reform first.

Really? seems like a big part of America can't even accept American's. Also, with people like Glen Beck talking about Hispanic's, or at least in the context of this bill, as a threat to White people doesn't seem very accepting.
Come on Unsung....just say that you wont be accepting anything until the boarders are secure...that at least gives people some hope of finding a vote in the future.
