Your argument is hypothetical. Why the smoking mirrors and mystery surrounding him? I still haven't seen any proof that he WAS born in the country in the first place.

By the way, I have a right to question these things. I'm not going to blindly follow this man because MSNBC and Keith Olberman say I should.

I don't believe you are a citizen of this country, therefore, I don't think you have a right to ask questions as I've not seen any proof of you citizenship...

I never said you don't have a right to question them. But at some point, how much evidence will it take to convince you? Media outlets have seen, and verified, the certificate. The state's health director released a statement saying the certificate was authentic. Short of personally walking around to every single man, woman, and child in America and personally showing them the certificate, what more would you like to see done? So, I ask - what smoking mirrors (by the way, the phrase is "smoke and mirrors" unless you're coming from some magician's shop) and mysteries are you talking about? There are no mysteries - people asked to see the certificate, so the certificate was produced. If I walked up to you and asked you to show me your driver's license, and you did, and I then ran off and told everyone that you didn't have a driver's license, would you think I was being perfectly reasonable (after all, it could be a fake license - I wasn't there when it was issued) or would you think I was an idiot?

As for the race card - if you think this isn't a racial issue, then please, by all means, list here, for everyone to see, every other American president you suspect was born overseas. Maybe George Walker Bush was - after all, Johnnie Walker is from Scotland, so maybe George Walker Bush was born in Scotland. On that note, William McKinley may be Scottish too - after all, McKinley is a very Scottish name.

There's a big difference between healthy skepticism and unhealthy paranoia, and you sound like you're leaning much closer to the latter than the former. Don't bother blindly following "that man" because MSNBC and Keith Olbermann said you should - instead, feel free to continue blindly questioning his birthplace because FOX said you should. Don't let the evidence make up your mind for you...
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

The “race card” issue is ridiculous. Don’t forget that in addition to being the first partially African American president, he is also the first radical Marxist too. He is the first president in my lifetime that has blatantly ignored the will of the people to further his own agenda. Last night the people spoke to him again, will he listen this time?

There is more than just the birth certificate too. Why does he hide so much of his past? The stuff we do hear is bad enough! Just imagine if the mainstream media went after him like they do Republicans. The funny thing is, Obama wouldn’t have passed the first round of background checks to be one of his own secret service agents.

FOX News didn't make my mind up about him. The fact that he continues to pursue his agenda against the will of the American people has convinced me of his intentions. Thanks for the speech, though.

Wow....just....wow. You cannot be serious. He HAS proven it. It is fact that he is a natural born citizen. It's been proven over and over and over and over again. I've spent so much time trying to educate people like you on this. Where is this still coming from? Who in the media is continuing to disseminate this false meme? It's a nonstory at this point. Get your head out of your ass and do your own research on it, and stop listening to conspiratorial talking heads funded by the president's opposition party. They are rotting your brain.

And as for there being "more than just the birth certificate" - what other ridiculous conspiracy theories concern you? Maybe Antarctica doesn't exist - after all, you probably haven't seen it, so what evidence is there that it exists outside of some liberal hippy schoolbooks?

And for god's sake, quit with the whining about the mainstream media - you act like Fox is some fringe channel that nobody watches. FOX IS PART OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA - and in case you haven't noticed, they go after him a LOT.

I mean, you'd have to have a pretty short lifetime for that to be the first president that blatantly furthers their own agenda....

    What?

I first read this statement a few days ago (the one made by MG79478, which, I hope is, as another poster said, "facetiousness" and a statement made in jest).....and I just stopped laughing. As someone who studies Marxism and Socialism, and who agrees with many of the ideas stated by those two schools of thought, it appalls me that these two concepts are being thrown around so casually by individuals who have no idea what they mean. I guarantee that for 90% (maybe more) of the people who use these terms, and terms like them, that they have not done any research or study, or readings of any kind on these concepts. It is like someone saying Pearl Jam sucks, when the only album they have is Ten, if that.
    It pisses me off.
And, if they think they are knowledgeable on a subject, I will refute their insistence and say that looking up Socialism on Wikipedia does not count.
The majority of American society is misinformed, uneducated, and intellectually lazy, but all of a sudden we are all geniuses. We are all political theorists and economic prodigies. We live under the delusion that we know what we are talking about, so we continue to blab on and regurgitate what we are told by talking heads.
    It is sad.
Go back to watching celebrities dance on TV, reading your US Weekly, and walking around the malls Dawn of the Dead style. Leave the adult conversations to us.

I have had conversations with friends and I, sadly, have heard some of the most ridiculous, moronic statements ever made. The following are all from one conversation in the Spring of 2009:
    1. "Bush is a great man, he spoke from the heart. Obama speaks from teleprompters" Nothing to say here. How could form a comeback.
    2. "Obama got elected - this is a tolerant nation" Yes, let's pat ourselves on the backs for"giving" people who have a darker complexion than ours basic human rights......in the 1950s! And, the whole idea that whites "gave" African Americans rights is disgusting. And, it is clear that racism and xenophobia still thrive.
    3. "This country is great. Capitalism is a great system. You have the opportunity to climb the tree and reach the fruit at the top." So I guess there's no injustice in this system. My friend who made this statement was born at one of the top branches. he didn't have to go to college. Him and his two siblings have been handed everything in life - cars, jobs, houses. There is a serious lack of perspective in this statement to not recognize that people struggle; that people work hard and still do not have the opportunities of the privileged.
    4. At the end of the conversation, he said, "I win the argument." I laughed. What argument?

    It blows my mind.

I'd like to know from the birthers out there exactly what evidence they have that Obama was born overseas. I mean actual evidence, not a photoshopped birth certificate from Kenya that is so bad it even gets the name of the country wrong. I mean REAL evidence. The birthers complain that Obama is being secretive about his past (even though he has released his birth certificate and it has been verified), but I'd like to know exactly what makes them believe he's a foreigner.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

    1) You can't save everyone. You can't bring the entire world up to our standard of living.

Congress controls the purse strings, and while Bush wasn't perfect, spending really got out of control from 2006 -2008 when Senator Obama and the Democrats took over. Not one dime can be spent from the federal Treasury without the approval of Congress.

this is interesting could you expand on this statement, Iam in a union but have real concerns about the union I belong to.
btw I think forgin auto makers have a bigger place in the collapse of our auto ind.

I have to disagree with the statement that spending was out of control only from 2006-2008. So, there was no spending from 2001-2006? The fact that you state "spending really got out of control from 2006 -2008 when Senator Obama and the Democrats took over," explicitly mentioning Obama is in poor taste and devalues your argument.
