OMG the Tea Party...

Can somebody explain to me what exactly it is that the Tea Party people are doing that is so "offensive" to liberals?

I'm sorry, but I see nothing wrong with telling our government to read the fucking bills, quit wasteful spending, lower our taxes, quit bailing out corrupt-ass insurance companies and banks and to stop growing our government. Is B.S.NBC persuasive enough to convince people these things are bad? I'm just not getting it.

I like the fact that the Tea Party doesn't give a fuck whether you have a (D) or an (R) in front of your name. They think all the politicians suck. I can't understand how this movement has so many American citizens' panties in a wad. I've been hoping for at least 10 years that this type of movement would happen because I'm sick and tired of everything coming down to the (D) and the (R), clouding all common sense. Fuck 'em all, I say.

so exactly how many democrats have the tea party endorsed in the midterm elections????

    oh,

    that's right...

    none...

i like the tea party because it is pulling the gop further to the right because they are going to have to deal with these people on the fringe, and that makes them less palatable to most ethnic groups. tea party and republicans are polling badly among african americans, hispanic americans, and muslim americans. in the past these have been crucial voting blocks..

There has barely been any distinction between the (D) and (R) lately, which is the problem. I'm not comfortable with essentially being one party away from a dictatorship.

I think it has more to do with the hypocrisy of not speaking out about these issues until a Dem was elected compared to practicing sound and basic policies which most could agree to adhere too.

There political outlook and openess about the functions of government aren't the concerns with the Tea Party movement. At its core, the Tea Party movement is rife with contradiction, incoherence and a willful contempt for facts or reason. It is but a parody of the legitimate movements for which American democracy has historically been held in such high regard. It is, in fact, the latest installment in quite another American tradition: the exploitation of frustrated, desperate, and susceptible people by greedy interests and profiteers. While the Tea Party movement claims to be a grassroots group, with “no defined leadership,” it does have public figures and entities who act as leaders. This situation, has led to perhaps its greatest irony: a portion of the American populace who carries a populist banner against the coddling of hungry bankers is led by some of the country’s most cynical and base profiteers. Those cynical and base profiteers include Dick Armey of Freedom Works and Fox News Channel, which has made a lot of money creating and promoting tea-bagger anxieties and then covering their movement as “news.”

I can't account for others' comments or similar, but I feel the tea party is nothing more than Rep's & Conservs with a new gimmick and name. As for my other comments, please tell me how it is wrong? Our nation has been practicing most of the complaints they lodge for decades now, and all of a sudden, they start this "movement"? I find it pretty naive to say it anything other than simply their side got voted out of power, so they turned to this instead and it stemmed from there. No one cared or said a peep when Bush was in office about any of these topics or issues... and it was for 8 yrs at extreme levels. It's seriously nonsense and a distortion of fact to try and say it any other way. You can claim so to save face, but most of us see right through.

    ...
Not (D) or (R)? Do you really believe that?
If that is the case... then, WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU FROM 2000 to 2008?!?!?! The government grew to an enormous size... became intrusive... adapted tactics that are associated with Soviet Gulags and Nazi Gestapo... inflated the government spending... let the Wall Street douchebags make their own rules... and only protect the richest citizens and allowed the middle class to slide further from them.
Don't give me this bullshit about 'Caring for America' because if you really DID give a fuck about America... you would have come online way before 2009.
The Tea Party is a part of the Republican Party... PERIOD. You are NOT Independent, otherwise you would be voting in the Independents, not more Republicans. Your mouthpiece is FOX News, which sponsors your rallys and your spokes people are Glenn beck, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh. The sweetheart of the Tea Party is Sarah Palin.
Now... all that being said... please, what part of you embraces the Democratic agenda.
    ...
My guess is NONE. Because the Tea Party is Republican.

"Vote our career politicians"? Really, all details and polls show all the people do is support Conservatives and Republics, just as they did previously. Perhaps you're hope is to get rid of career politicians you don't like, but in practice it doesn't appear this is what is occurring

Also, how can you honestly sit here and not acknowledge the fact that this entire "movement" began when Obama was elected and not one mention of it ever was before? It's a bit of a red herring no?

As for "flipping the white house", I think it'd be more aptly commented you're here to remove the guys you don't like and replace them with "your side" instead. There's absolutely no reason, proof or facts to believe this "movement" is nothing more than removal of one side to put your own back into power, which is exactly all they are. High and mighty claims about issues (which have been going on for decades) and refreshing historical ideals are nice, but considering less than 5 yrs ago, no one seemed to have any issues with them.. a tad hypocritical no?

Based on you claims of what the Tea Party represents... then YES, the Tea Party would have more credibility had it spoken up when all of the crap Bush created was going down.
The Tea Party wants to 'flip the White House' back to the Republicans... because the Tea Party is Republican.

Ok well then perhaps you can very simply explain why this movement formed and gained steam when it did? Seems like a very easy task and commentary if you believe it had nothing to do with Obama..right? It would have a very distinct moment or speech or action right? I'm sure you'd be able to find some articles or commentary stating as such...I mean after all it is a political movement and party right? I'll be waiting on that, but certainly not holding my breath.

    And yes Smellyman i know...

It's a very simple question... For someone who is so supportive of a political movement, don't you think it's best to fully understand everything about it so you can clearly explain your points and opinions to others instead of simply dismissing and saying people are wrong?

    Hint: look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_movement

so sarah palin didn't run for the 2008 republican nomination

    really now?

kinda funny how you see no calling out of the republican party on their homepage and it's nothing but bashing democrats and liberals. funny i don't see anything bout Carl Paladino homophobic remarks on the tea party website. i guess he gets a pass on his homophobic remarks cause he's a tea party member. also funny how the tea party only really started when obama was president. where was this "party" when bush was in power, huh?

notice the (R) next to her name. i guess she's not a republican huh? how come i don't see a (T) next to her name if she truly is a tea party member.

I hope they get it soon….They (Obama sheep) have been so brain washed they make up things to hate about the Tea Party…such as the Tea Party is racist but just look at gimmesometruth’s post why put people in your little groups
“ polling badly among African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Muslim Americans”.
The Tea Party has always said everyone is more than welcomed to participate…..we don’t say come African Americans oh and you Hispanics can come also….The Tea Party does not care about the colour of skin as they do….. Yet we are the racist.

Don't worry five, you're responding to the person who thinks the private sales of land to condominium developers is communism.
