very true...been to a lot of good shows that i otherwise would not have known about...so kudos for bands using fb! other bands unless they are pj tribute bands don't get any recognition over here...at least not much. i mean its not the go to place to find out what your local hot bands are up to...facebook is perfect for that. myspace would have been too but its so graphic intensive that i get sick of it freezing and never really look at the page. except if they have a music player...then its worth it...just sayin'

Yea, I was being sarcastic. The total-members-to-idiots ratio is much higher here. Funny how elitism prevents us from seeing the grass isn't always greener on this our side of the fence...

That was how I found out about Ben Harper's gig at the cemetary and got tickets... and that's how I heard about and got in to see Jenny Lewis play in a tiny bar for about 60 of us for 5 bucks a pop.
So, there are good things to be said about it.

Don't know how many divorces it's caused, but I have read a few articles and talked to a few people that have said facebook statuses, posts, and pictures have played a large part in divorce settlements. Like denying joint custody of children because there were pictures of the dad dating a skank and the judge denying alimoney because there were posts from the woman about going on a date while she was supposed to be happily married. It's amazing how much people will post without realizing the consequences.

As for me, I use facebook, but not really all that much. The poeple I wanted to keep in touch with I have and I don't really keep up with all the status updates.

Also, without facebook we wouldn't have http://failbook.failblog.org/ ...some of the posts there are too funny
