    Right now.....

    It's Visions of Johanna.

the song , that has always been there, just started seeping from the walls
kind of like the "ghost of electricity that howls from the bones of her face"

oh, you've heard the Dead perform it? wonderful@!

I've heard that songs so many times. It was always mediocre to me until about 50 days ago, for some reason it just busted out. I love that.

The whole Blonde on Blonde album has attacked me my whole life..
even a simple song like "just like a woman" keeps my attention for weeks at a time.. It took years to shed my leopard skin pill box hat..

truly one of the great albums of all time..

and yes, I have the vinyl...

Figured this was the appropriate thread to post this in: I was looking at the newspaper this morning and saw today was the 50th anniversary that Bob debuted "Blowin' In the Wind".

For me, it has to be "Like a Rolling Stone".  The date: August 5, 1965.  The time, a little after 10 PM.  I'm lying in bed listening to my new transistor radio given to me earlier that day on my 14the birthday.  Some familiar pop songs are playing, sandwiched between the usual DJ patter.  Suddenly- a rim shot quickly followed by some amazing keyboard playing and then a voice- that voice- and a melody that draws me in and shuts every other thought in the world out.  And it goes ON and ON.  I've never heard anything like this, ever.  It's late evening so they play the whole song.  Those 6 minutes and 13 seconds changed my life.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
