So did they get the first down after that?

They had to punt on 4th and Goal

Probably the first time anyone ever punted on 4th and goal from inside the 5

great game. Hate they didn't give the ball to Barkley at all on the last 4 plays. I would have gotten him the ball on 1st down with 15 seconds left and one timeout.  he was awesome tonight. best player in the country.  Big time plays by McSorley on the 4th down and the final play.  He has some toughness to him.

and the Iowa fans waving to the children's hospital patients at the end of the 1st quarter is one of the coolest things i've seen in sports. great new tradition they've started thre.

intense game.  Iowa always seems to play Penn St. well and about 10 years ago or so had their number for a while.

Yeah I wanted them to give him the ball on even 3rd with that timeout. Amazing game though. Going in it scared me. Can't let a team you are dominating hang around like that. Hell of a win to get out of there 4-0 though.

ywah that is very cool. Got choked up by that

Barkley is indeed badass....was my pick to win Heisman.
A win is a win ...all season long.  Even over shitty teams like Cal and Iowa.  Just keep winning.

that was one of those games where as soon as PSU won, off went the clicker. simultaneous!

it was a great game. Iowa, obviously, scored to soon. big play when Barkley(?) faked some dude out of his jock on the winning drive. gotta give it to the hawkeyes and their crowd. I don't think those people sat down all night.

Not much to Fear of the Spear this year.  :i_dunno:
Has to be a massive disappointment.  Such a tough way to start the year with the big game and injury.

I didn't get to watch the game Saturday, but from what I heard Blackman actually performed pretty decent at QB with what he is given. I thought maybe the o-line was just overpowered by Alabama, but NC State's defense pummeled them as well.  Not discrediting Alabama at all, but when NC State runs over you all game, something's not right.   And for our so-called defensive leader, Derwin James, to get his ankles broken the way he did on that long TD pass is just unacceptable.

That 1 point loss to UGA hurts like shit right about now. A top 10 (top 15 for sure) match up with USC in South Bend would have been great this season.

Dude you cheer for Utah, who's claim to fame outside of churning out LDS members is that Ted Bundy went there.
