    My steel-blue Chinese chime balls
    Don't need much description
    They depict two pandas
    One each
    Curling
Like the yin and the yang
They sit in an embroidered case
Threads of gold, red, deep-blue and black
    That shows a fisherman
    Out in calm waters
My aunt brought me them from Hong Kong
Back when I had no idea what Hong Kong was
They chime, they are good for my hands, and good for my head
The difficult trick is spinning them in the palm
    Without them touching!
Making them chime not click or clatter
No wonder my hands are so young and fit
Either that or it's because I'm completely work-shy!

Then, if you'd like, you can add a link to your stuff or to the blog, whatever you want, into your signature, or whatever, or not, depending upon how you feel about it.

I googled them although I didn't need to, beautiful description
    for beautiful things.
I have never seen these nor heard of them,
and yes I read they make hands very strong and improves dexterity.
Very cool gift your Aunt found for you. A lifetime gift :D
Thank you so much for sharing.
And for writing here, I really enjoy your work,

I can post a pic if you want - wasn't sure if that was allowed or not!!

No, me and my best friend are kind of dexterous & 'head' type of people, and when we shake hands we always joke how we have 'girls' hands compared with some of the other friends who do 'man' things like lugging around heavy machinery

Mens hands are an important feature to most women. I think if men knew they might keep them "prettier" if given the chance.
My son runs our printing press and his are covered in ink, honest work though I tell him, cause they do not clean up well and he is a little self conscious about it. Someday he will be in charge and his hands will be clean again, but his head full of worries ;)

    Show and tell assignment ;)

From our days in school this was a favorite, bringing an object to class and telling why it is a treasure.
Choose a favorite object, write a short story or poem that tells us why it is special to you. You'll need lots of description, words of imagery to "show" us your object and why it is important to you.

    Could be fun :D

    the way it goes.....

As a child I remember I always had them as close to my heart as could be
    they went with me everywhere
they were the world to me
and every now and then i still think about them and miss all the fun we had.

It's been a long time but I still remember
    coming home from school
it was the winter of 79
I was barley 18 and couldn't see the writing on the wall.

I opened the door and walked inside
and there was no one home at all
I looked in their room and ran up stairs
    how was I to know
all that I knew had come un-done
and they went their separate ways.

My Brother and I and my little Sis
we band together for the fall
we held the fort down till summer
and half way into the new Fall.

till the police asked us to leave
    it was still home
but they never came back and I never knew
but I guess it wouldn't matter anyway.

Mom and Dad were gone and went their separate ways
and we did what we had to
and we always found a way
we survived and found something new along the way.

    We knew what we had
and we never let anyone take it away.

the most precious thing to show "love" you did it justice, as always, Godfather.
I would ask if it were a true story but I don't have prying eyes,
and it does not matter, you've showed us well, what is truly of value.
Thank you for sharing this and thank you for writing, means more than you know.

What kind of stuff do you print? I would have thought a lot of proper printing has gone to the wall now. I have a friend who prints from copper plates tho, which is pretty cool.

I get a lot of the box thing but my nickname is Pandi so it gets misunderstood sometimes
We have digital printers and a waterless environment friendly karat press, an AB dick and CD duplication.
We do point of purchase, brochures, banners, take one pads, biz cards, restaurant menus etc. Biz is good if the ecomomy is good that's the big catch :D its been quite a ride, 17 years in business. 33 employees before 911 now we have 4, 2 of which are our kids  can't complain when there are people without jobs though.

    SHOW & TELL....

My prized possession I have brought today
fits in the palm of my hand.

Although small it makes really big things happen
    in really huge spaces.

    It is lightweight and colorful,
    comes in many different colors,
and was invented thousands of years ago.

    It is priceless to me
yet costs but a fraction of a dollar.

With this possession, when used just right,
    millions of hearts are touched.
    Joy, love, sadness, anger, admiration,
    untold emotion is felt.

When I lay my eyes on it
    beautiful memories come to mind,
that hold me and bring me close to tears.

    Here in my hand,
I know how very special it is
    just because it is,
because of where it has been.

You see, my prized possession belonged to a man
that I prize above most others.
And it was given to me with a point of his finger
and a toss in the air all hallows eve.

I show you now my prized possession
that I hold above all others.

It is my precious Eddie Vedder guitar pick,
my priceless possession, my forever gift,
and sorry no, you may not touch it!! :D

    Headspray

    it happened late at night
with a blink of an eye
    his life turned upside down
if this is all there was for him
he no longer wanted “it” at all
    I guess that’s what made
    his head spray
    on the wall….
    they found him alone
not a written word to be found
would it have helped them anyway?
so in the blink of an eye
    an extinguished flame
left nothing but a smoking hole
    that made his head spray,…
    Peace, Love.

    his head spray
    on the wall….
    they found him alone
not a written word to be found
would it have helped them anyway?
so in the blink of an eye
    an extinguished flame
left nothing but a smoking hole
    that made his head spray,…

wow that reminds me of a old friend that lived in Lakeside, his Bro found him.
    very moving Wolf.

    Godfather.

    Could be fun :D

    a treasure
    given
    with
    love
    and devotion
    three
    unassuming
    stones
    garnet
    good son
    the protector
    of journeyers
    alexandrite
    fine daughter
    emerald by day
    ruby by candlelight
    garnet of fire
    baby girl
    joy and good fortune
    two winter embers
    surround
    a springtime
    rose
    everlasting
    circle of
    silver
    plain
    ordinary
    yet timeless
    endless
    a mother's
    heart
    forever
    embraced
    by
    the
    love
    of
    her
    children
Oh Jo that's beautiful, now you have a gift for them! Your words to cherish and hand down to their children.
    Just lovely,....
    "two winter embers
    surround
    a springtime
    rose"
You have 2 January babies, no? And a May. My favorite stones. I am a January baby and we married in May, I wear an Emerald wedding band.
Thank you so much for your gorgeous words and the love that shines in them :D Bless your you and your family

thanks pandi....i am happy that you like it
i have two january babies (ha funny how i still refer to them as babies...hahahaaa..they always will be my babies right?)..my eldest son and my youngest daughter are january
and my middle daughter is june...the alexandrite stone is often called described as being an emerald by day, ruby at night, because of its changeable hue under flickering light like candlelight...and it so expresses my middle daughter's personality!
.... Thank you for your kind words
MAY Is also my birthday and I do love the emerald..it's my favorite..it means many things to me, celebration of birth- May 1st, and that of my ancestors in the emerald isles....ireland (and wales)
    peace,
    jo

    SHOW & TELL....

My prized possession I have brought today
fits in the palm of my hand.

Although small it makes really big things happen
    in really huge spaces.

    It is lightweight and colorful,
    comes in many different colors,
and was invented thousands of years ago.

    It is priceless to me
yet costs but a fraction of a dollar.

With this possession, when used just right,
    millions of hearts are touched.
    Joy, love, sadness, anger, admiration,
    untold emotion is felt.

When I lay my eyes on it
    beautiful memories come to mind,
that hold me and bring me close to tears.

    Here in my hand,
I know how very special it is
    just because it is,
because of where it has been.

You see, my prized possession belonged to a man
that I prize above most others.
And it was given to me with a point of his finger
and a toss in the air all hallows eve.

I show you now my prized possession
that I hold above all others.

It is my precious Eddie Vedder guitar pick,
my priceless possession, my forever gift,
and sorry no, you may not touch it!! :D

that brought tears to my eyes and a swelling to my soul (and a lump in my throat)
i know just how you feel pandi
how lucky you are to have that special special gift from ed
and i love how the words describing the pick
could also describe ed...small but makes things happen in big big ways

    love it
    peace,

anybody inspired by this unusual picture with a history?

    It’s been a while
    since I’ve thought of you
    And I remember..
the time I fell in love with you

So if you feel a breeze
    you may believe,
    it’s me
and if a tune comes to mind
    you may know
    the voice
    is mine

There’s something I never told you
    there was a place
    I once discovered when…
    I’d think of you

Sat amid teardrops on the grass
    by a hidden river
    beneath that tree reaching …
    to embrace the nearby river
I’d seen a tear in your eye
    for the crying nature

    I’d found us
    in a hereafter

    I’m now bones
just like you’d said …I always was
    playing to the dark
just like you’d said …I’d always play
but beyond, now lies that place
    I’d discovered
    thinking of you

    I know I‘d promised you
that there were places I’d take you
I know I broke my promises
    to you

And so, still playing to the dark
    I now wait
    for you
    if on this side
    you ever wish to…maybe…
    see this place too
