people have until monday to buy so i guess theres no chance of more tickets being released til then

and even then i dont see why anyone wouldnt go... atleast to sell the second ticket for tons of $$$

    BUMMER!

I had so much more hope of finding a ticket for face value after the PJ vic sale... this one just seems hopeless... I have no clue where all the tickets went... not many on the SG forum

    Scalpers, scalpers, scalpers...

They had days to plan ahead and with no real prerequisites this was always going to be a nightmare longshot.

I know SG didnt have a fan club setup 'formally,' but they could have done this so much better utilizing their mailing list or something else... this was not handled too well in order to really help/benefit/protect the fans.

the email should've went out like 1 or 2 days before and only to people already registered on SG world

that website is the closest they have to a fanclub right now... should've gotten priority

but they just care about getting their name out there

they'll see their mistake when the venue is half full because scalpers show up only to get the other person in, collect $$$, then take off

There could be a lot more but people are just not posting. Was the same thing here for PJ at the VIC. Not all that many posted they had tix.

    Agree 100%

I mean - the website had to have already had a nice mailing list from the way they kind of leaked info in dribbles when they first launched it. So give a first round to them and a second chance lottery to everyone else that could have gotten just as much attention.

Vic holds 1,200ish I think, right? Say they are giving 1,000 tickets out and saying 200 for friends/family. Do 800 to the mailing list and 200 on a 2nd chance thing.

Would have been much better for the fans who signed up early and followed this whole thing so closely, and would have avoided what is going to be (I think) a flood of tickets up for sale from people who registered only for that.

yah but enough did that I was eventually able to complain my way into getting someone's extra :)

havent given up on that option

I would really prefer to pay $50 for a superior show than $90 for a single lolla ticket

From the 'you won' e-mail - seems this may stop a lot of the scalping.

    C) The ticket purchaser must present government issued ID and the credit card used to purchase the tickets at the door.

    D) Your guest must be with you in order to enter the building. The box office will not be taking down names for your guest to arrive late.

    D) This is a paperless ticket, meaning there is no physical ticket or wristband, only entrance into the building. Once you've provided the door with your ID and credit card as stated above, you and your guest must enter the venue together immediately.

    E) There is no re-entry. Once you and your guest are in, you are in for the night.

Naturally, with E), the potential scalper can leave the building, but it's a lot of time and effort for one ticket.

    Well thats cool Rita.

But we all know this shit is nicely layed out in rules but then when it comes to the crunch some shit happens. I bet some people will get away but yeah thats life anyway.

God, this is probably one of the shows of the decade to be at.

I'm just saying... if you can make $500-1000 off the extra it is well worth going through all that... its far from a flawless system... it'd be nice if you had to have a name for both tickets when purchasing and only gave people like 15 minutes to buy or not buy... don't give em any time to find a buyer

hell, theres no way around it tho really... any amount of time is enough to sell something with the internet :x

Yeah - giving until Monday is a bit annoying, but I doubt many are left anyway once Monday comes.

The PJ Vic tickets were selling on ebay for $1-$2K... I doubt these go that high, but still... its well worth it for a scalper to wait a few hours to make $500-$1K.

Absolutely... there are always ways around the rules but they did as much as they could to stop the scalpers.

Sad thing is that $1K for both tickets is best you'll get... :(

And... this is how people are going to sell them. That way you dont have to wait at the door.

They did a little, but not a lot. They either didnt think it through or chose publicity over prventing scalpers. I can't blame them either way to be fair, but they definitely did not do this in the best way for keeping scalpers out.

The thing is, probably only about 600 or so pairs are available (depending on how many are put aside for industry and friends). A majority of those that do want to see the band won't get tickets, whatever way this was advertised, etc. There are just way too many people wanting something very limited and people will be pissed off they didn't get tickets. Anger will be directed towards those who have signed up at the last minute (the TRUE fan argument), scalpers, the organisation, etc. Truth is.. not many tickets, lots of people without.

It's the same thing on this forum, isn't it? Everytime 10C tix go on sale, there's all the complaining threads, etc.....

That's true... but they had to haev already compiled quite a list on their website, so why invite so many more by plastering it everywhere? I saw links to that from Lolla's email blast, every Chicago radio station, MTV, etc, etc.

If you only have 600 pairs (I doubt that have that once you take away friends/family/industry/etc)... why increase your pool of hopeful fans from say the 20K+ (I'm guessing its more than that) that had signed up since the site launched to probably an absolutely insanely high #?

I'm bummed to live close and not go, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it because I know it was a longshot at best. I just think they opened the door way too much for scalpers and just anyone off the street who signed up because its a 'thing to be at' as opposed to diehard fans.

It's really hard to know who that actually is though... unless they try to win the auction to get the details, but that could be really difficult and messy.

i would think they could just put in a claim with ebay and have it removed / get the person's info

then again... i dont know that it said anywhere explicitly that this wasn't allowed

Do you really think that your average schmuck will think that a 'rehashed grunge band' show is the 'thing to be at'? Honestly, I think those not interested in Soundgarden to start with will not have signed up. Those interested willl have. We love Soundgarden, for a lot of people, it's a bit 'who?'. It's not like Led Zeppelin or some other huge classic band reforming. A bit like Take That reforming with whatshisface... who gives a shit around here (not many). I'm sure if you were offered a chance to see an intimate reunion gig but you had to register on their site, you would just shrug your shoulders. As much as it's difficult for us to even contemplate this, it's the same with Soundgarden for those not into the music of that era.

there is something curious tho that people had to sign up for the fan forum to be eligible and yet there are only like 5 or 6 reported winners so far... is it cause people are at work? are SG fans too cool to post? I guess I just don't remember what it was like around here after the PJ vic sale

I think a lot of people that would otherwise not go to a SG show would sign up to go to small/special show. I also think that even thought they arent THAT big of a band, their reunion has had a lot of buzz and adding to that having Lolla as the only confirmed date right now.

I guess my point is still that they had a ton of people already built on a list yet they still spammed this show everywhere and made it that much harder to get tickets. Its also a small slap to those who made sure to sign up right away when in the end everyone could sign up 100 different ways and get tickets probably easier than those who signed up once early.

Dunno... still don't think Soundgarden reunion is that big for the 'man on the street'. I think that most tickets will go to fans, though quite a number will be for 'industry', as usual. When PJ played Shepherd's Bush in London (capacity approx 2000), the whole first level seemed to be for industry/friends..... No tickets for that level were available for purchase. All these little gigs are like this.

And this is why I say they did a poor job of ticketing/allowing too many registrations:

I had a feeling when the person listed 3 things were not right, but I also know that a lot of people were registering a ton of times. I kind of wish I had registered more than once now!
