...to see PJ live.

And it has to be the MAIN purpose of the trip.

Mine was an 17 hour drive to Tenn. I know many of you have me beat.

Let's hear it!

14 hours from Baltimore to Montreal... then a couple more to Ottawa and back. I don't know what the actual mileage is. There are a lot of people traveling to different continents too.

    San Francisco to Munich.

Was it the MAIN purpose of my trip ... well ... no ... but, the whole trip (ended up being 12 days in Europe) would not have come about if PJ were not in Munich.

I had a friend living in Munich for a year or so, and I lost a bet to him ... (see Patriots v Broncos 2006 playoff game) ... so, I owed him dinner and planned on paying up upon his return to the US.

PJ announced their 2007 Europe tour and I was long overdue for a vacation, his stay in Europe was extended, so, I asked him if he'd be up for a visit and I could repay him dinner (oh, and I'd check out PJ while I was there).

To get my girlfriend on board, we added on 6 days in Paris. (more than worth it, I loved Paris).

So ... the trip wasn't necessarily focused around the PJ Munich show, but again ... I wouldn't have started the whole planning going to Munich if PJ wasn't playing there (or, if the Pats had won that game ... ha!)

I think we need another question, what is the furthest you've gone to see a show, and what is the furthest you've gone on the day of show?

I went over 2500 miles to see PJ at the Gorge.

I drove ~600 miles the morning of Boston 3, 2003. BEST DECISION EVER! (Drove another ~350 miles after Boston 3, got to sleep at 6:00 AM for a few short hours, spent the entire day at Hershey Park, saw PJ again!)

That's what was SO great about Pearl Jam playing Newfoundland. People who never would've gone there otherwise found out how wonderful of a place it is!

I flew from Newfoundland to Alberta then drove to the Gorge....from one side of the continent to the other :)
