last night was a blast. blew my expectations away if you have the chance go see em
I thought they rocked the "suburbs" pretty well :D

Not all of the new songs seemed to get the crowd as into it as i would have liked but it was a good show. I was hoping to hear antichrist television blues that is the only one i wanted to hear they did not play.

  • Glad you guys had fun. Didn't catch their show in Boston, but I can't stop listening to this album. The first 4 songs just rip, and of course, Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains) is just a tour de force.

  • very happy this band was well worth the hype. Just flat out awesome
  • Solid solid album, We Used to Wait, City of No Children, Suburbs, Rococo, Wasted Hours, Month of May, all killer. And then there's the Regine masterpiece, Sprawl II. The best Bjork song she never made.

I believe that Sprawl II is the best Arcade Fire song yet.

Agree with everyone about Sprawl II......

Empty Room is probably my fav at this point. I also love the 2 Half Light songs.

Modern Man is the only one I can't get into.

I'm still listening to this album quite a bit. Month of May and Wasted Hours are the only two songs I don't really like.

I have listened a few times......I like it but I'm not in love with it yet. I have to say though, this is the first Arcade Fire album I am looking forward to a few more listens with.

oh i loved month of may when i first heard it. probably cause it was the most unarcade fire song id ever heard. im still wading in the shallow end with this band so we'll see if i stay afloat when i get to the deep end or drown.

    "Suburban War" is excellent.

My favorite is either that one, "The Suburbs," "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)," or "Modern Man".

    Very good record.

Good album, good band, but way too much hype, in my opinion. The press is trying to hype this band as the second coming of Nirvana or Pearl Jam. In the day of "indie bands" there is a void where mega artists once resided. It's natural to want to appoint hot new bands as some kind of supergroup, but these guys just don't have enough widespread appeal. You're not going to get your typical mainstream rock fan into loving Arcade Fire.

i disagree. and if you ask me, nirvana or pearl jam never released an album as good as funeral. or maybe even the suburbs for that matter. arcade fire is really something special. there will always be people that don't appreciate it. there are a lot of pearl jam haters out there as well, doesn't mean they get too much hype.

I kind of agree with tiki here about arcade fire's mass appeal.
I can only speak about some close friends who normally are not into stuff that is nto on the radio unless they are pointed towards it and they are big Arcade fire fans. now that is a very small sample size but i think this band can cast a wider net then you may give them credit for gabers.

Plus their live act is awesome!

I'll agree that Pearl Jam never made an album as good as Funeral. In my top 10 of all-time. Still think Pearl Jam is the better band, but that may change in 10 years.
