I'm going to start my own thread about this, but if anyone in Philly or DC area wants to see them I have an extra ticket to the Arcade Fire show at the Mann Center in Philadelphia on Monday night.

It's a hell of a ticket, too. 6th row, center. Face value, which I believe is around $60-70, but would have to check.

PM me if you're interested! If you're in the DC or Baltimore area, I'm driving, so you could hitch a ride...

This album is SO DAMN GOOD. I love their first two albums, especially Neon Bible but this has to be the album of the year to date. So pumped to see them Weds. night at MSG.

    Absolutely agree!

The Album didn't impress me at first but it is a "classic grower", after about 10 listens you're totally caught up and can't live without it! :D

I will be buying this first thing tomm. morning! Have heard maybe half the album already and every song has been great. From all the reviews I have read from around the world it sounds like they have made a classic album people will be talking about for a long, long time?! When you look around the landscape for young bands that have it all, this is the band that can carry the torch and let people know Rock 'n' Roll is not DEAD yet!

Yeah, I went to the Boston show too. Amazing live band. Didn't realize the new album was for sale at the pavilion. Would have been great to listen to on my way back to Maine. I'll grab it tomorrow though!

  • Very pissed about C3 scheduling my 2 favorite bands for the same time this weekend at Lollerpalooza. Soundgarden is my pick, but this album is so so excellent. It's making me doubt myself. Half Light II is my favorite.

Just got back from the show in Philly and I am blown away...I've seen hundreds of bands in my time, and these guys are hands down the best live band I've ever seen.

    Go see them.

Agreed. In Boston they played 7-8 songs off the suburbs, which I had not heard one note from. It's definitely different to hear almost the whole album live before the cd. Makes listening to the cd today that much cooler knowing how well they perform these songs live. Easily one of the best live shows I have attended as well. Highly recommend to see them live. They won't be playing mid-sized venues (outside of the MSG shows this tour) much longer. Go see them!!

One of their shows will be streaming live this Thursday right?

I just started listening to the NPR stream of the album. Sounds good, but I'm at work so unfortunately the volume has to be low. I'll be picking this up as soon as I get out of work! I didn't realize this was coming out today!

As I've stated before, best live band in the world. And what amazes me most is that I've seen them play in small venues, medium sized venues, and huge festivals/ampitheater shows, and it never matters. It is always a magical, transcendent experience. Can't wait for West Coast dates to be announced. San Francisco loves them.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

I just listened to the new album for the first time... "Suburban War" is the first song to hit me on the first listen in a while. Good stuff the entire album is.

I wasn't too crazy about it as a whole on my first two listens but its really growing on me.

I finally got around to picking this up last weekend and it is absolutely incredible. It is currently on a constant rotation with American Slang, which is also incredible by the way. Month of May, Modern Man, Rococo, Ready to Start, and Sprawl II are all so awesome.
