Anyone here Arcade Fire's new album, just interested in hearing some opinions of this album aside from a magazine or critic review.

I heard the two songs on the single - they're good. The album isn't out yet.

Can't wait to hear it. Will it top Funeral? That remains to be seen.

  • The Suburbs, upon a few listens, has quickly ascended the ranks to become my favorite AF album. It's a cohesive, melodic, and at many points, stunningly gorgeous effort. But this is a more subtle album than Funeral and Neon Bible in many ways (or relatively so in the case of AF), and is certainly more detail oriented than those predecessors; it takes a few listens to truly appreciate everything that this album is.

Bottom line: This is an expertly written, executed, and produced concept album. The kind that makes you re-realize what music is capable of doing to the heart. It works from the inside out.

    I love this band.

I'm not going to judge the album until a few more listens but I absolutely love 'Modern Man'.

Why are more people not talking about this album? 'Suburban War' is the latest song to blow my mind.

I have given the album about 3 listens and I am liking it more and more, some great tunes on here, really enjoying "City With No Children"

Amazing album. Quickly moving up my top 10 albums of the year list. Don't think it will top Funeral (What can though?), but I think I will certainly place it higher than Neon Bible. Which I also love.

15 days until I get to see them with Spoon!

I've given a few listens and I really like it. Their sound is almost bigger and really good. Win Butler still sounds a lot like Bruce.

    Loved Modern Man live.

Not downloading the leak, what with them recording it for vinyl first and foremost.

I'm gonna need my office to set up a record player so I can listen to it after picking this up in the morning.

I seriously cannot get enough of this album...

I'm seeing them on Monday for the first time. I haven't looked forward to a show this much in years and my expectations are very high. From what I hear though, they will meet those expectations...we'll see! Are they really as good live as people say?

Best live band I've seen. Never thought I'd say that about a band not named Pearl Jam.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

Amazing band. I saw them 2 weeks ago and they were just incredible. Played a lot of new stuff too.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • Yep, great album and no mean feat to do three consecutive albums of such a high standard.

It's between this and High Violet for album of the year, so far.
It's gonna be a glorious day...

Is it bad that I've listened to this album 9 times already?!?!

Today's favorite is Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains). Love those Regine songs. She's got some passion in her voice.

You know an album is brilliant when you ask 6 or 7 people what their favorite song is and you get 6 or 7 different answers.

Can't pick a favorite song on this album yet. I won't be suprised if this is still my favorite album of the year by December. Every time I listen to it so far, it amazes me. I hope I can continue to enjoy this album for some time to come. So far the best way I can describe it is that it's going to be one of those albums where your favorite song on it changes 5 or 6 times, and then after about a year it will change another 5 or 6. Right now for me it's either Modern Man or Rococo. I haven't made it to the end of the album too much yet though.
