you know not everyone supports media heads even if they may lie in the same party...pretty lame of the op to call the left hateful and negative...and ironic isn't it. people say mean things about a person who is diagnosed with a disease and then you go ahead and spread a negaive/hateful message right back at people? I don't want people to get diseases even if i think they're a raving lunatic, but i think you're doin the same thing here. i hate michael moore so then i must be republican right?
I'm not spreading any message. I don't have to. All you have to do is read 95% of the post in this thread.

really? 95% of the posts say mean things about his disease? I see a couple yeah but a lot of people said they wish no harm on him but hate him for what he does...you come on here and take the focus off of the disease he's been diagnosed with and go on to make the statement at how negative and hateful the liberals (in which your assuming that everyone who replied there is) were about it.

i guess i don't hate michael moore, he can just rub me the wrong way sometimes. His acceptance speech at the oscars a few years ago was over the top and when he's part of a panel or doing interviews just doesn't hit me right.
Glenn Beck has just been diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy. Could be blind within a year. What's even more disturbing is all the comments under the story. Really shows how negative and hateful democrats/ liberals/progressives can be.
...
God knows... I try. I try and I try to refrain from making cruel remarks... yet I fail...
This has got to be one of the moronic perspectives I have ever read... "What's even more disturbing is all the comments under the story. Really shows how negative and hateful democrats/ liberals/progressives can be."
I mean... it is so stupid... that it would be an insult to stupid people to call it 'stupid'.
Seriously... you need to quit politicizing everyone you do not agree with and come to the realization that a lot of people think Glenn Beck is just a entertainer/profiteer who is full of shit and just wants his ratings to go up.
Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
Hail, Hail!!!
who wants to bet that beck will not only not be blind in one year, but that he will begin to wear glasses for emphasis?
...
My guess... God will heal him. Sometime around the time he makes his, 'I Have A Plan' speech in Washington, D.C. (August 28th)
...
P.S. Every time you put a little dab of cayenne pepper in your eyes so you can shed crockadile tears, on queue, during your television show... yeah, it makes you go blind.

Yeah.....because we all know how bad Becks ratings are
maybe you're right. just clicked on the link again and the text on the story has been removed. so you guys can say that Beck made it up. i'm going to say that msnbc made it up, seeing how ( i think ) they are the only media that reported it. seems as though Fox would have reported on this because Beck works with them, but they didn't.
And just for the record, you can all say and believe what you want. But if you took all them negative hateful comments underneath that story and did a poll on how many of them are liberal/progressive democrats, i'm pretty sure it would have been almost ALL of them.
Yeah.....because we all know how bad Becks ratings are
...
If what you say/believe is true... that ratings matter...
Then, you must also believe that Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga are the best musical acts out there today... that the Twilight movies are the best things in the theaters and 'American Idol' and 'Dancing With The Stars' are the best shows on television. They get monster ratings... so, in your opinion... they MUST be the best, right?

and i just want to add, that knowing a bit about macular degeneration myself, beck must have one of the most aggressive forms of it in human history for him to possibly go blind within one calendar year......

Which is true... Glenn Beck does this of a living... it is his job. Ratings matter to him because ratings directly equate to dollars... higher ratings, more dollars.
His ratings ar high because he is a sensationalist that targets the most politically inept of the population. His job is to create a sensation that will attract the dumbest and make them feel that they finally understand the complicated world of government and politics. That is why Glenn Beck's ratings are high... because the same people that watch his shows are the ones who are watching 'Dancing With The Stars'.

:? You can be confusing dude. First of all, you're already assuming that Beck made this up and we don't know anything yet for sure. But i'll pretend that everything you say is right and go along with it.
If Beck made this up for ratings ( which don't matter ) his ratings ( if they matter ) are the 3rd most listened to radio show in the country. Do not know what his tv show ratings ( if they matter ) are but i'm sure they're not far behind. So this theory really doesn't make much common sense. Now if it was Olbermann, Maddow, or Matthews then fuck ya, for sure, makes all the sense in the world.

Glenn Beck made the announcement... at one of his 'American Revival' shows in Utah. Not assumption... fact. http://www.wtol.com/global/story.asp?s=12842447
...
And it doesn't make sense in your sense.
Glenn Beck's livelihood is his radio show, his television show and the sales of his books. Common sense says that if you are in competition for the same sponsorship dollars with other on air entertainers, you will try to sustain or increase your ratings to maintain or increase your sponsorships. In order to do that... you need to keep people coming back.
Your sense says that if you are in the lead position... you can let off the gas and coast... losing ratings and allowing competitors to scoop up those sponsorships. Is that what you really think?

OK, well, if he says he has it, then I believe he has it, and I wish the best for him. But I really don't see how somebody with this disease is suppose to raise ratings. Yes... I do. Maybe not so many new viewers/listeners... but, to at least, retain his current audience.
He makes millions of dollars with his shows and book sales. Anything that gets you in the news will make you money or at least, place you in a position to make money... you capitalize on any opportunity because fame is fleeting and you have to earn as much as you can, while you can. Beck hasn’t lost his need to spread evil and hateful words without any thought about the impact on those who may be hurt or harmed. Beck never stops to see the destruction his words causes, so going blind will have no impact on his need to continue to spread hate.
Sometimes people like to think they were ‘chosen’ to bear a burden, when in reality, they simply ‘reap what they sow’.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

And it is a precursor to his, 'I Have A Plan' speech where he likens himself to Martin Luther King. That is supposed to take place on 28August... I'm guessing he will mention going blind and somehow relating it to God and Jesus.
I'm going to take a wild stab and wrecklessly predict... using unfounded speculation... that his speech will contain these points:
1. The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is natural law.
2. A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.
3. The most promising method of securing a virtuous and a morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders.
4. Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
5. All things were created by God, therefore upon him all mankind are equally dependent and to him they are equally responsible.
6. All men are created equal.
7. The proper role of government is to provide equal rights, not equal things.
8. Men are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights.
9. To protect man's rights, God has revealed certain principles of divine law.
10. The god-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.
11. The majority of the people may alter or abolish a government which has become tyrannical.
12. The United States of America shall be a republic.
13. A constitution should be structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of their rulers.
14. Life and liberty is secure so long as the right to property is secure.
15. The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free market economy and minimum of government regulations.
16. The government should be separated into three branches--legislative, executive and judicial.
17. A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power.
18. The unalienable rights of the people are most likely to be preserved if the principles of government are set forth in a written constitution.
19. Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to the government, all others being retained by the people.
20. Efficiency and dispatch require government to operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.
21. Strong local self-government is the keystone to preserving human freedom.
22. A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of man.
23. A free society cannot survive as a republic without a broad program of general education.
24. A free people will not survive unless they remain strong.
25. Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations--entangling alliances with none.
26. The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family; therefore, the government should foster and protect its integrity.
27. The burden of debt is as destructive to freedom as subjugation by conquest.
28. The United States has a manifest destiny to be an example and a blessing to the entire human race.
