Well, if EV comes to CT on a weeknight, it will be convenient for me to leave straight from work since I'm right near the Mass. Pike.
Equally easy for me to pick him up from the airport. I'll even turn on the heated seat for him.
Heated seats are a fine thing for a cold butt on a February morning. And the heated steering wheel, I have to admit, is equally fine.15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -
Rainy Day Woman
Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home
Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.
Well, they'll stone ya when you're walkin' 'long the street
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to keep your seat
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' on the floor
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' to the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.
They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone ya when you are young and able
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck
They'll stone ya and then they'll say "good luck"
Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.
Well, They'll stone you and say that it's the end
Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car
They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar
Yes, but I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.
Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone
They'll stone you when you are walking home
They'll stone you and then say you are brave
They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.Mansfield, MA - Jul 02, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 03, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 11, 2003; Boston, MA - Sep 29, 2004; Reading, PA - Oct 01, 2004; Hartford, CT - May 13, 2006; Boston, MA - May 24, 2006; Boston, MA - May 25, 2006; Hartford, CT - Jun 27, 2008; Mansfield, MA - Jun 28, 2008; Mansfield, MA - June 30, 2008; Hartford, CT - May 15, 2010; Boston, MA - May 17, 2010; [EV - Providence, RI - June 15, 2011; EV - Hartford, CT - June 18, 2011]; Worcester, MA - Oct. 15, 2013; Worcester, MA - Oct. 16, 2013; Hartford, CT - Oct. 25, 2013; Boston, MA - August 5, 2016; Boston, MA - August 7, 2016...0 -

Anybody catch EV doing this in at the Opera House in Boston in 08? PLEASE ED PLAY MILLWORKER AT EVCT11
Now my grandfather was a sailor, He blew in off the water
My father was a farmer, And i, his only daughter
Took up with a no good millworking man from massachusetts
Who dies from too much whiskey, And leaves me these three faces to feed
Millwork ain't easy, Millwork ain't hard
Millwork it ain't nothing, But an awful boring job
I'm waiting for a daydream, To take me through the morning
And put me in my coffee break, Where I can have a sandwich
And remember
Then it's me and my machine for the rest of the morning
For the rest of the afternoon, And the rest of my life
Now my mind begins to wander, To the days back on the farm
I can see my father smiling at me, Swinging on his arm
I can hear my granddad's stories, Of the storms out on lake eerie
Where vessels and cargos and fortunes, And sailors' lives were lost
Yes, but it's my life has been wasted, And I have been the fool
To let this manufacturer use my body for a tool
I can ride home in the evening, Staring at my hands
Swearing by my sorrow that a young girl, Ought to stand a better chance
So may I work the mills just as long as I am able
And never meet the man whose name is on the label
It be me and my machine for the rest of the morning
And the rest of the afternoon, Gone
For the rest of my life"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam09250 -

have to prioritize with the concerts this year. cant keep going to every show that pops up. its too damn expensive. especially if the show is 2 hrs or more away, then i would rather stay in a hotel than drive home, and that just ends up costing even more money. dammit i need to win the lotto. and all this talk about alpine is getting depressing. please dont be alpine. this is not going to be anything like we had initially imagined. i would much rather have the band play some fan club only shows than play one venue, 2 nights in a row, in an inconvenient location. Just come to Boston, or Hartford. Play 2 nights at the XL center or, play 3 nights at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston - fan club only. Then you can proceed to tour the rest of the world. Fan Club only. You want to celebrate 20 years? Do it right. Do it with and for the fans. Instead, the whole freakin world is going to be heading to one location for two days. Half of those people already jumped the gun and booked the nearby hotels for two different dates, in the chance that it is the last weekend in August, or Labor Day weekend. Ok. done crying.
In other news...
The Strokes will be planning some US dates in June.Mansfield, MA - Jul 02, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 03, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 11, 2003; Boston, MA - Sep 29, 2004; Reading, PA - Oct 01, 2004; Hartford, CT - May 13, 2006; Boston, MA - May 24, 2006; Boston, MA - May 25, 2006; Hartford, CT - Jun 27, 2008; Mansfield, MA - Jun 28, 2008; Mansfield, MA - June 30, 2008; Hartford, CT - May 15, 2010; Boston, MA - May 17, 2010; [EV - Providence, RI - June 15, 2011; EV - Hartford, CT - June 18, 2011]; Worcester, MA - Oct. 15, 2013; Worcester, MA - Oct. 16, 2013; Hartford, CT - Oct. 25, 2013; Boston, MA - August 5, 2016; Boston, MA - August 7, 2016...0 -

5 nights at the XL would awesome; do what they couldn't do at Philly and play everything they know in those 5 nights.
I'm hoping for a Strokes date in CT. And Foo Fighters.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Question:
What the hell happened to Lupo's (in Providence, RI)??
Used to be one of my favorite small clubs to see great shows at. Was just talking about it last night. It used to be great during the colder months to get me thru to the summer. I saw KOL there in their heyday, QOTSA, Toadies, Modest Mouse, Mos Def, Talib Qweli, Common. So many good shows. Havent seen one even remotely decent artist go there since Wilco last year. What the hell Lupos? What the hell? Im hoping the Strokes go there when they schedule their dates. Freakin love that venue. Another band that should go there is Them Crooked Vultures.
Whats everyone else got lined up so far this year for shows?? Its early still, I know, but lots of announcements coming out slowly but surely. Nothing yet for me, tho, i get the feeling that this last ever LCD Soundsytem show at MSG may have its pull over my significant other.
Why cant everyone just get their shit scheduled for the summer, by a predetermined date - say, mid-February, that way, there are no surprises and we can just plan accordingly. Pick and choose...no surprises...know whats coming..... What usually happens to me, is we jump on all the good shows as they come up, thinking that it will be a slow year, then, come June, we get a shit ton of other announcements, that we cannot possibly pass up, ultimately draining the bank on another summer of badass concerts.
Nobody ever told me music was such an expensive addiction. I think I need help.
And...to top it all off....THERE ARE STILL POSTERS TO BE FRAMED :evil:Mansfield, MA - Jul 02, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 03, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 11, 2003; Boston, MA - Sep 29, 2004; Reading, PA - Oct 01, 2004; Hartford, CT - May 13, 2006; Boston, MA - May 24, 2006; Boston, MA - May 25, 2006; Hartford, CT - Jun 27, 2008; Mansfield, MA - Jun 28, 2008; Mansfield, MA - June 30, 2008; Hartford, CT - May 15, 2010; Boston, MA - May 17, 2010; [EV - Providence, RI - June 15, 2011; EV - Hartford, CT - June 18, 2011]; Worcester, MA - Oct. 15, 2013; Worcester, MA - Oct. 16, 2013; Hartford, CT - Oct. 25, 2013; Boston, MA - August 5, 2016; Boston, MA - August 7, 2016...0 -

FenwayFaithful wrote:TT, make sure you and the other half sock away a couple bucks for MMJ this summer, too...
we are in the process of making a short list of "must see if tour happens in 2011"
No doubt, MMJ is on that list
So far, the list is:
PJ
MMJ
QOTSA/TCV aka "the Josh Homme projects"
Radiohead
Tool
The Strokes
Fleet Foxes (may be one of the small $30 or less club shows but on the list just in case)
Wilco
I think Im missing something :? :?: .... I also think the list is getting longer the more time it takes for me to actually pen the official list.
Also, as stated previously, I forsee LCD Soundsystem sneaking their way onto the list as they are playing one and only one last show.
And, we have agreed that small club shows of $30 or less do not need to be on the pre-approved list to be considered.Mansfield, MA - Jul 02, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 03, 2003; Mansfield, MA - Jul 11, 2003; Boston, MA - Sep 29, 2004; Reading, PA - Oct 01, 2004; Hartford, CT - May 13, 2006; Boston, MA - May 24, 2006; Boston, MA - May 25, 2006; Hartford, CT - Jun 27, 2008; Mansfield, MA - Jun 28, 2008; Mansfield, MA - June 30, 2008; Hartford, CT - May 15, 2010; Boston, MA - May 17, 2010; [EV - Providence, RI - June 15, 2011; EV - Hartford, CT - June 18, 2011]; Worcester, MA - Oct. 15, 2013; Worcester, MA - Oct. 16, 2013; Hartford, CT - Oct. 25, 2013; Boston, MA - August 5, 2016; Boston, MA - August 7, 2016...0 -
