I've got a dilemma. "Rubber Soul" is my favorite album of all time. But my second favorite is tough to choose from this list:

    Highway 61 Revisited
    Yield
    Joshua Tree

All three are so good and I love them all.

    How's it going fellas?
Just checking the thread is still going strong. See you are onto the LSD trips now ;) As for best albums....shit...too many to pick just a couple. Rubber Soul is up there, but not #1. Depends on my mood and what's going on in life. Could do with a bit of U2 as it's been ages since I've played those. Beatles are on all the time as with PJ and Pink Floyd. AIC is also a good listen but not ranked at the top. Phish for those times when my head is a little out of wack and Ween for fun. Smashing Pumpkins for memory lane and David Bowie for artistry. I also like some Eminem...random music tastes, I know. Florence and the Machine is a new 'kinda like' too.
    Okay, just saying hello...g'night :D

No, Sorry Fen, i'm the only white guy in my office, i listen to black music all day every day, it does nothing for me.

I kind of liked Biggie, ya know before he got killed, i kind liked 50, ya know, when he still made music.

I just can't get around his pompous ego to actually listen to his music with an open mind. I heard that album was good so you'll have to bring it over and let me hear it.

I've never heard a single song of his...or many others in the top 10 today...I think his press has put me off him as he comes across as a bit of a shit...but I could be very wrong as I really haven't taken the time to find out. Big buzz on his latest effort though...might have to check it out just to be open minded.
  • Merry Xmas to you as well ms. twisted thoughts. And to everyone else as well. I just wrapped my final gift. Every year I listen to this when I wrap gifts.

No doubt his ego is through the roof. And I still kinda chuckle thinking of him in that south park episode. Gay fish. I'll let you borrow it next week. The thing that gets me with this dude is his songs, apart from the actual rapping, which I could take or leave, are amazingly complex and rich.

I am thinking about posting a photo of me in the elf suit. And thank you for the good wishes for Christmas! I hope Santa is good to all of you. Especially you, Newch, for starting this crazy thread.

I think the boys would love it...Merry Christmas.

BTW I tried a little Kanye and feel it is best of we don't get too well aquainted..."not my cup of tea," as we Brits say.

Just to make Newch happy...my son was listening to "Happy Christmas (War is Over)" and immediately shouted out..."This is John isn't it mummy? This is a great song" I love that my boys know REAL talent when they hear it :D

@unlost:  You're welcome. I think this thread has strayed away from its original purpose, but that's fine, we've all become friends here.

@Katyz: I'm proud of your son. You have trained him well. My favorite Christmas song (shocker?).

Hope all East Coasters/New Englanders are battening down the hatches for tonight's snow. Watching the news now and just north of Boston where I live is expecting 14-20 inches of snow between 4pm and 7am tomorrow. Pretty sure I am staying home from work tomorrow. Also told my neighbor I'd give him $20 to clear out my driveway with his Bobcat. He was cool with that and he'd be by when the snow subsided tomorrow.

Anyways, for those who will be affected: Be safe, stay warm and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

Waterbury should be expecting 10-15 inches. Good thing there's a lot of leftovers from yesterday. My dad is getting some snacks now for the Giants game today.

I hope all northeasterners stay safe and warm during the first blizzard and real snowfall of the winter.

Same here _ on our little peninsula town bordering Boston we're hunkering down and ready for the expected 12-20" of snow. Which means in reality it could be 2" to 36" as we know...

Mr. Unlost got a couple of cans of gas for the snowblower, fired it up and did some mechanical tweaking, got stuff for an easy dinner, and I there's at least one six pack of Bar Harbor Real Ale left over so we're in good shape here.

I just took the rear seats out of the Element in preparation for our trip to NY over New Year's. :x that I can't fit crates in there, I'm now nervous about driving with the dogs uncrated since a friend of mine was in a really bad accident on her way to a trial. But, I will pull over if it's bad. Plenty of blankets, food, water, etc. if we were ever stranded on the road.

Newsflash: I'm looking to buy a vehicle that can haul a camping trailer. Probably in the next month. I think I'll start a thread about that _ but wanted to let you know that one thing I'm interested in, the Nissan Pathfinder, can seat 7 so not only can I pick up Eddie at the airport, but five of you can come along for the ride.

    Who's in?

Count me in! You should check out the GMC Acadia. Was thinking about trading in Mrs. youngsters pontiac torrent for one. It seats up to 8 with the bench seat in the middle or 7 if you have the bucket seats in the middle. Also can haul a camper if you needed. but the Nissan isn't a bad ride either.
