Incredible. I can't wait to see it again. So refreshing to see a well made, smart, original movie like this. Sharp writing with top notch acting. I loved every minute of it. It wasn't as confusing as some of the reviews made it out to be. If you pay attention you will follow along with no problems.

But it has been awhile since I have seen a movie that invoked immediate discussion amongst the audience as soon as it ended. It was like people couldn't wait to start offering their opinions. It was great.

I just saw it today, best movie I've seen in a while, my last three movie-going ventures have been dissapointing (Men Who Stare at Goats, Sherlock Holmes, and The A-Team.) Inception was great though.

saw it yesterday. i really liked it. like many nolan films, it's hard to understand but you get it at the end.

    ***SPOILER ALERT***

for those who saw it...what did you think of the ending? did you think he was back in reality?

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.

    Butthead: Huh huh.

So many layers to this movie.....great to see an original movie and not some retreaded story

Nolan is on a different level as a Director

It is a great film, instant classic. I've seen it twice but I still have so many questions about it.

Watched it yesterday with the wife. Excellent film. Lots of twists and turns. It is a bit long but never drags. I would highly recommend seeing it. Kinda regret not shelling out the extra cash to see it in IMAX.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

I can only agree with everyone else, amazing film - easily the best I've seen in a long time.

Saw it today - really enjoyed it (even with the fire alarm going off half-way through - didn't spoil it).

I too saw it today and enjoyed it a lot. I felt like some of the character development was a little rushed but the film did not suffer from it. I seemed to follow it better then some because there really were not many points where i did not get when they were in a dream. I wasn't too confused by it i actually thought it was pretty straight forward. That is odd for me usually i'm like "WTF wait what just happened"

So refreshing to see an orginal concept come to life. Christopher Nolan is a very good director and the acting is very good.

Ellen page is cute as hell too

kudos to nolan for not treating his audience with the condescending tone of your usual dumb summer blockbuster
    SMART fuckin movie

Its remarkable that he was able to pull off something of this scope SO WELL

    visually and aurally engrossing
    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The end totally gets across the feel of planting an idea (inception)... it'll certainly leave me thinking for awhile 8-)

Just got back from seeing this, WOW! great movie, great visuals, great story. Real mind twister. Kinda reminded me of the Matrix in some ways. I love dreams and some of the stuff they were talking about kinda made sense about how you never really see a dream from the beginning. You usually just remembering ending up somewhere in the middle.

Can't wait! I might ditch work early tomorrow and hit the matinee! :D
  • :wtf: What a total mind-fuck!

Got outta the film a few hours ago, & was thoroughly entertained. Didn't have any trouble following it, but I definitely found an inconsistency that I won't discuss here, to avoid spoiling it for anyone. An extra impressive aspect of the movie: our theater was completely packed, & recently has had lotsa loud-mouthed assholes ruining our viewing experiences there... but tonight everyone was completely silent through the entire film. No time for talking or other noise when u gotta think that hard to keep up, haha!

I def recommend this one, along with everyone else. 8-)

It gets you thinking though...going into the dream for the first time, they don't know that they're in the dream until someone asks them to remember how they got there. They cant remember, so that's when they realize that they're dreaming.

But if you think about it...how did you get here in this world in the first place? Nobody remembers their birth...so how do we really know if we're dreaming or not?

good film ... the ending was kind of nice but what's great is that i really don't care if it's real or the whole thing was a dream ... the execution of this story and all it's complexities was very very good ...

the movie with all the odd language reminded me of Brick, even more so with Joseph Gordon Levitt in it.

The first "kick" may be my favorite scene from a movie in years. I was like "what the hell". And the scene in the cafe or the outdoor cafe. And the mirror scene.

The imagery and visuals in this film were pretty unreal
  • musicismylife78musicismylife78 Posts: 6,116
now that i think about it, they overused the kick in the film. may be my only problem with the film. yes the slow motion, stuff was insane, and unique and groundbreaking, but i cant tell you how many times they used the word "oh heres the kick, here comes the kick" in the space of 2 and a half hours. they should have used it a few times, and then done something else. it lost its effect by the time the slow motion car thing came about.
  • *****SPOILER*****

OK, since everyone knows about the kick, I hafta discuss my discrepancy... why does Ellen Page push Fischer out the window in the last level, as a kick, & then jump herself? It's my understanding that the kick has to happen in the level that they're sleeping in... so that one doesn't make any sense. They only should have woken up in the snow level by falling within in that level. And for that matter, there was no reason to blow up the building the snow level, cause at that point no one was sleeping (unless that kick was set for Leo). The elevator kick in the next level is what brought them outta the snow level. U guys know what I mean?!

Great film. Could have been about 20 minutes shorter. Is it just me or does Given to Dragon Fly look like Ellen Page?
