The thing I love most about this song is that if I wake up with it in my head for the day, ( :D ) it's a very positive message to hear.
That's what I thought when I listened to it this morning! Its a great song to wake up to!

Also, does anyone else think is has kind of a Lion King feel to it? Especially at the end?

I really hope that the band either comes to their senses and releases it, or has something big planned for the song, because taking down the song without any explanation is leaving us all in suspense!

This could have had the same role as Hard Sun did in ITW. I like it a lot.

That's what I think, too. How pretty that soundtrack would be. Hard Sun sticks like sore thumb to me.

ha. i thought i was the only one. big sun is a bit much. but ev didn't write it so it's not his fault :)

i like this new song a lot. puts me in a good place...to bad it's for a julia roberts movie. not a big fan. but the book was a hit and i'm guessing the movie will be as well so anything to get more fans on board i'm all for

having read the book "Eat, Pray, Love" this song is perfect!!!!!! loved the book & am completely in love with this song! Brings me to tears everytime. The book is a true story written by journalist Elizabeth Gilbert of her spiritual journey of self discovery & communion with man and God. She spends many months in Italy (eat), India (pray) and Indonesia (love). Hope folks can look past it being made into a movie starring Julia Roberts and see the depth of the true story. Eddie totally captured the meaning with this song. I hope he did the whole soundtrack!!!!

I feel part of the universe opened up to meet me
My emotion so submerged, broken down to kneeling
    Once listening....
    the voices they came
Had to somehow greet myself, free myself
Heard vibrations within my cells, in my cells
    Singing, "Ah-ha-ah-ah, ah-la-ah-ah"

My love is safe for the universe
    See me now, I'm bursting
On one planet, so many turns
    Different worlds
    Singing, "Ah-ha-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah"

    (Spanish guitar solo)

    Fill my heart with discipline
    Put there for the teaching
In my head see clouds of stairs
    Help me as I'm reaching
The future's paved with better days

    Not running from something
    I'm running towards the day
    Wide awake

    A whisper once quiet
    Now rising to a scream
    Right in me

    I'm falling, free falling
    Worlds calling me
    Up off my knees

    I'm soaring and, darling,
You'll be the one that I can need
    and still be free

Our future's paved with better days

I hear ITW, Lion King and Avatar. I can actually visualise scenes with the blue guy running or jumping onto the leaves, first part of the song is green to me with that mandoline undercurrent like water, and than later it goes into the deep blue sky.
    Really like the song.

I listened to it......really really liked it instantly. Said so to the person I was listening to it with.....

Instantly evoked an Into The Wild feel, which I love. But I really enjoyed hearing this song, and I really hope it gets released at some point. Very impressed personally, I loved Backspacer, but this is better than anything on it. Just my opinion of course! :)

I, for one, am absolutely loving this song more and more with every listen! Another lyrical masterpiece courtesy of Ed! Also has a really neat sound to it- love the spanish guitar & the mandolin.

For what's it's worth, I'm certain the final line is "I awake" and not "wide".

I love this song. I wasn't a big fan of ITW, but this just blows me away and lifts my spirits.

Force, few days ago I was throwing tantrums about this movie.

Then I checked, this director was involved with Popular, Running with Scissors and Gods and Monsters, all good things in my book. And there are Crudup, Franco and Bardem, all cool guys. Checked trailer, movie could be at least pretty, with Indian and Indonesian flair, so there is that. And at least one kickass song.
    I think we are good.

First Just Breathe, now chick flick, PJ is turning into boy band. :D

Clearly, talented and succesful people involved in this, director included. I just can´t stand glee, that´s all.

And has vedder changed his way of looking at his own success in the past years? Hell yeah. Good for him. It might be an indication of a healthy state of mind at his age.
