The double-mats have been cut for all posters (except special opening mats for a couple of people which will be done after all the regular framing). I've cut and joined about 20 frames (out of about 75). This week and next week I'm cutting and joining another 55 frames. Then I'll be carefully securing posters into their respective mats on top of museum foamboard, then cutting glass for each piece, then fitting into the frames, then papering-and-wiring up the back making them ready to hang. Lots of time being careful on each and every poster to ensure the highest quality possible.
I'm on-schedule with the time frames I told everyone.
As discussed with everyone, most people will have their framing shipped by early to mid August, with a few that needed earlier shipping earlier as discussed. This is just a progress report.
I know everyone's dying for a photo of theirs "in the works", but since that not practical, here's a photo (from my crappy old cell phone) of the first one, which I'm working on at the moment. Once I have everyone's framed, I'll do nice, clear photos with a close-up of the corner for many of the posters.
(pardon the low-res, not so clear photo)
Thanks!

Chris,
is there that much difference between the Conservation Glass and the Museum Glass, as far as protecting the print? What do you suggest? Hope this question has not been asked and answered before.
Also, should we go off Ebeans for the size of the poster?

Hey PJ_ROCKS,
Excellent question. The difference in UV protection between Conservation Glass (included on all orders) and Museum Glass (an upgrade option) is no difference at all. Both have the same UV film, and both are used widely by museums.
The only difference is that Museum Glass has an anti-reflective coating as well which reduces reflection and glare to less than 1%... there is still reflection on bright elements (like opposite an extremely bright window, etc) but it reflects much less. Other elements in the room like people and furniture will probably not be seen reflecting at all with Museum Glass.
Both have 99% UV film, and both are made by the same company. If conservation is your concern, then both will work. If reflection is a concern, then Museum Glass should be considered.

Got mine yesterday and they look fantastic! Here is a pic of one of the 2. Thanks CJ!
Didnt realize the pic had to be so small. I should have zoomed in a bit, but I wanted to show how it looked against the red wall. I'm sure some high quality pics will be up in the not too distant future.

What do you suggest for taking good care of the frame?
Hello.
When cleaning the glass, don't spray glass cleaner directly on the glass since it may drip down and get between the frame and the glass and possibly seep up. You'll want to spray glass cleaner on your paper towel (Bounty seems to work best) and clean it that way. I prefer the clear ammonia-free Windex. Ammonia free is good in general, and for those who upgraded to "museum glass" ammonia free glass cleaner is a must. Those with the upgrade to "museum glass" I anticipated giving you special cleaning instructions, since it's a little different to clean than "conservation glass".
As far as cleaning the frame, you can again put some windex on a paper towel and just lightly go over the frame. You'll probably only need to get dust off, so light pressure is all you will need.
They should be relatively trouble-free, but maybe once every 6 months or once every year it might make sense to give a light cleaning, but it is not necessary.
Also, I highly recommend displaying them in a non-humid environment (no bathrooms) as moisture will eventually become a problem, and encourage mold to grow. Also, do not hang in direct sunlight. While "conservation glass" and "museum glass" have UV film that blocks 99% of UV light, direct sunlight penetrates the UV film, and will fade the print over time. Also keep in mind that regular light (that you see) can also harm prints... but the "conservation" and "museum" glass only filter UV light, and it's the UV light that is the most damaging. Museums trust "conservation glass" and "museum glass" to protect their delicate items from fading, but they also often hang items of particular importance in generally dark spaces too. But frankly, with my personal poster collection, I have them all with conservation glass, and I consider any concern for non-UV fading to be trivial, so I don't personally worry about it on my prints as long as I have the conservation glass on there.
Here's a chart for those interested in the specifics of how a print will fade with different UV protection ratings:

Didnt realize the pic had to be so small. I should have zoomed in a bit, but I wanted to show how it looked against the red wall. I'm sure some high quality pics will be up in the not too distant future.
Yup, I'll get hi-quality closeups on the porch in upcoming weeks.
Thanks for the shoutout.

Do the frames have hooks where we can easily hang them to the wall?
