CJ, not sure if youngster mentioned, but one of his two will actually be mine. But just a question, have you done a Hartford 08 poster yet? If so, what was chosen for framing and matting color? Thanks buddy!

On this note, I also have a question regarding the order. If both of us are shipping 1 poster each (totaling 2) should we send in 2 different order forms with 2 different CC #'s? Or should we just put one form in with both posters and 1 CC # and figure out the rest on our end?

Edit: Nevermind, we're just gonna package our posters together and bill it to one card. They will both get shipped back together to the same address.

you could probably put me down for two

it will depend if I can find 2 prints smaller then 19x25

most PJ prints are larger and I think $122 for the larger size glass is a bit steep

One last plea to find someone from the Chicagoland area (including the north suburbs and southern Wisconsin) who would want to split the cost of shipping.

We would each get 1 print framed and only need to pay $182 each (shipped).
  • Add me as a tentative 2-3.

Now I just have to decide which to frame! Thanks for doing this. I've been waiting over a decade to frame these posters and I'm so excited. A few of my posters are in sad shape - will this affect anything or cause any problems?

Do you have recommendations or photo samples of these:
    Hartford - 06/27/08 - (long narrow black hole) - 24"x12"
    Hartford - 09/13/98 - (orange tree) - 23"x13.5"
    EV Solo NYC - 08/04/08 (black/blue profile) - 24"x18"

I'm also considering Hartford - 05/13/06 (birds) - 26"x20", but it's above the size. Have you seen this poster, and do you think it'll fit the 19x25 matte opening criteria?
  • oh - and how much will adding a ticket stub cost?

    Hey Fenway,

I haven't framed the Hartford '08 poster yet, but I'd recommend either the white-striped frame, or purple striped frame. White would be bolder and purple is darker and more subtle against the black of the frame. For matting on this one, I'd recommend a black top mat and probably that purple tone as the second mat. I'd need to see in person to make sure, but that's my recommendation.

    Youngster,
One form would be best to ensure there's no confusion on my end. :) If possible, one credit card would also be best, but if necessary I can split the framing amounts to 2 cards. That isn't hard to do. Shipping would have to be on one card though. You can just write on the form which you prefer. :)

    Hi KDH12,

Do you want me to put you down as "tentative" then? I'll wait until I hear back from you.

And it looks like you're misreading the pricing guide on the OP. If your poster is over 19x25, up to 19x31, it's only $22 more over the bracket price. All frames will have Conservation (UV protectant) Glass.

For those who would like to upgrade the glass from Conservation Glass to Museum Glass (same UV protection, less reflection), and if they'd like Museum Glass in the next size up to 19x31, THAT would be $122, which I assure you for framing in this size with Museum Glass is very reasonable. :)

Here's the poster size info for posters over 19x31:
    Posters larger than 19" x 25", up to 19" x 31": Add $22 to final price bracket
*note: shipping and packaging will be more expensive than the estimates above.

    Posters larger than 19" x 31", up to 27" x 35": Add $69 to final price bracket
*note: shipping and packaging will be more expensive than the estimates above.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Hey CJMST3K, thanks for the detailed response! I'm a little swamped in life right now, so when I get a chance I'm going to read over all the details on the first page of the thread and see what I have to do... but I like your framing suggestions for my posters. :) I actually have both EV black and blue posters, but I jumped the gun and got 1 framed because I saw Michaels had 60% off at one point but now I don't like the frame job. :/ I don't know if I can go back and try to get a discount to reframe it or if its a sunk cost. Anyway I potentially want all 4 of those framed but am not sure if I can fix the one already done!

So can you give me a quote for 2 posters and then for 4 (if I want to just take the frame job already done as a sunk cost)? Is the shipping back to me really expensive? I like outside of Baltimore MD if you want to calculate exact shipping costs.

Thanks so much for your offer and your help!

Gotcha down as 2-3 tentative now. :)

I can certainly work with posters in "distressed" conditions. Whether it will be a problem is something I can only tell in person. Can you specify the condition? Torn? Folded? If you can describe what's going on with it, I'll tell you what I anticipate would need to be done to get them to look their best. :D

Hartford '08 I'd recommend either the purple-striped frame, or white striped frame, and black top matting and purple second matting to compliment the colors in the print.

Hartford '98 I'd recommend framing probably close to the Starlake poster on the OP. Take a look! :)

EV Solo NYC I'd can't find the image on expressobeans, but I'm sure I can make it look awesome for you. :D

oh - and how much will adding a ticket stub cost?

Adding ticket stubs is a problem. The matting for all posters part of this special is 2.5", with about 2.25" showing after the ledge of the frame. The top mat has about 2" visible. If your ticket is 1.75" or shorter, I'll be glad to put it on top of the matting at no charge for you, between the matting and the glass. If you need to have the matting cut to accommodate the ticket, it throws a bit of a monkeywrench in our production for the group, so a bit of extra labor is involved, plus we would need about an extra 3" or so of space, which would probably bump it into the next size category.

...though, personally I prefer having the artwork separate from tickets, and framing tickets separately. :)

Does the Honololu 06 poster qualify for the special? Ebeans has it listed as 17x26. I am hoping to bring in 1, possibly 2. I plan on dropping off and picking up.

Hey CJMST3K, thanks for the detailed response! Ah... the "99.9% off framing" sale. I think the cost of framing won't be refunded.

...and from someone who used to work for me, and from customers, removing posters from their framing might be a problem. The person who used to work for me said Michael's trained them to use ATG tape (double-sided tape) and put it on the back of the mat, and tape the matting to the FACE of the artwork - which is SUPER bad for the poster, and would tear it if attempted to be removed. But this is only what I've heard from someone who worked for them, and also from customers of theirs. Hopefully someone more competent was working on yours, but... well... I've heard lots of bad things. :?

I've taken apart many poorly framed items before, and can do my best to safely remove it for reframing. I'm sure I can frame it to look lovely, so it's just a matter of if any damage was done that you can't see under the matting. So, you're welcome to send it for me to frame over for you.
So can you give me a quote for 2 posters and then for 4 (if I want to just take the frame job already done as a sunk cost)? Is the shipping back to me really expensive? I like outside of Baltimore MD if you want to calculate exact shipping costs.

Thanks so much for your offer and your help!

If the posters are 19x25, then the price to frame the posters (according to the specs of this framing special) in this group framing special is now at the lowest price of $159 per frame, plus shipping.... and we are eating $25 of the packaging for those buying 2 or more ($25 covers the packaging of 2 19x25 framed posters). If your posters are over 19x25, then we have more sizes available for an extra amount. See the OP for the "Size Restrictions" to see the additional cost, depending on the size.

I put some shipping estimates from UPS based on 2 framed 19x25 posters, to a variety of locations. If you're shipping 3 or 4, then the price may be more because the box would be bigger. Or if the posters are larger than 19x25, that would also affect the box size, which would affect the price. But the shipping estimates for the 2 frames going to those locations may be helpful for an idea. :)

    Hi Laddie,

I assume this is the poster?
    http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/46282

If you take a tape-measure, and measure the image, if you're ok with the opening of the matting being 25" high, and 19" wide (or smaller) then it's all good for the bracket price of $159 that we're now in.

If you need a matting opening larger than 19x25, then to make the opening taller would be $22.

That's the one indeed. I'll do the measuring soon, though it doesn't look like there's as much blank space as in the DC 03. Also, did you post somewhere that you do not adhere the art in your frames with 2-sided tape? Thanks for the info! Hope to take advantage of this offer soon. I will let you know.

    Hi Laddie,

Indeed, measure and see what you think. If you take like 10 sheets of printer paper, you can cover up all but 19x25 to see how much you see. :)

For the poster, adhesives do not touch the poster. Lets says in 10 years you discover it's worth 1,000... then this poster can be removed completely with nothing stuck to it.

Each poster I treat a little differently, depending on what is visible or how much the matting will end up concealing. But you know those photo corners that hold photos by holding the corners in a pocket? It's similar to that. I have ones which hold the corners, and others which hold it at other areas of the paper-edge. So, the poster is not held in place by adhesives. :)

NOTE: MSG 2 poster (donkey kong) is 19x26, but the whole poster image is 19x25. The MSG 2 poster can be framed for the 19x25 price - though the AMES logo in the lower right will be partially covered/partially shown. If you want to show the whole AMES logo, then the poster is larger than 19x25. If you don't mind the AMES logo being partially covered, then it's in the 19x25 price. :)

When I receive a tube, I'm updating the OP to say "received", so if you're wondering if it arrived, you can check the OP. That means you'll hear from me about choosing colors (for those that wanted to be involved in the color choice) either that day or within a couple of days. :)

A reminder - those who have their posters in hand already, and are confirmed, please go ahead and ship them. Cheers! :)
