So looks like PGA Tour Live will be going to ESPN+ next year.  Was worried about what that means for cost, but looks like ESPN+ is $60 a year too, so no change.  Probably better content outside of golf too.

Interesting.  ESPN+ does have a lot of good stuff already and I had been planning on getting it at some point....will probably do that bundle with Disney Plus for the kids.  A little something for everybody.  A lot of good soccer coverage on ESPN+.

Yeah, it looks like it does. The Disney option is definitely a good one too. I saw that but have been holding off until the daughter gets a little older.  Trying to cut down on subscriptions, not add them, but it will be a good one to have and probably decent timing when PGA Tour Live cuts over in a year.

Every time I pull up NBC Sports Gold, I say i should check out what else is on here, but never do.

I hope this mild winter weather continues.   Heated tees much more bearable at 30 degrees than 10.
  • Played 9 yesterday and today in Illinois.  Temps in the high 50s.  Getting the game ready for 6 days of golf in a row in L.A. next week.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

Awesome!  Love the winter golf trips. Any course in particular you are excited to play?  I have only played in Orange County area.

Have tee times at Rustic Canyon, Sandpiper, Braemar, Porter Valley, and Oak Creek.  Will likely add Los Robles Greens or Rancho Park.  Planning to watch some of the Genesis at Riviera as well.

Rustic canyon looks amazing. Real affordable too right?

Like most amateurs I have a problem with coming over the top.  My instructor got this training aid and gave it to me to try out for a week at home.  I went ahead and ordered one anyway as it looks promising and has some good reviews.  I like it because I can work with at home without a ball when too busy to get to the course.  Would rather hit a ball though.   I've enjoyed the daily drills so far but only time will tell.    Anyway else seen or used this?

I'm taking a lot more notes now after each time practicing and really trying to get to the range 3+ times a week along with a lesson.  I'm tired of being so damn inconsistent.  Gotta put the time in.

  • Beer is my version of the Tour Striker these days.  Has anyone tried CBD while golfing?  I think I may give it a try.

Have not tried CBD yet but was looking for it a few months ago as my grocery store was supposed to be selling it.

    https://www.golf.com/news/2020/02/05/phil-mickelson-distance-report-sport-governed-amateurs-usga/

I'm not a big fan of Phil at times.  This is one of them.  It is such a simple solution to roll the ball back so we don't have to build 8,000 yard golf courses.  He sounds self-serving here.  When you make a lot of money endorsing clubs and golf balls, you certainly aren't going to want to hurt equipment manufacture's business.   No matter what you do to the ball, longer hitters will hit it shorter than shorter hitters (so advantage to long hitters).   Long drives and wedges on courses with no trees or water are not exciting to watch (other than the majors because they are majors).   I forget who said it, but they said back in the early 90's "to Tiger proof a golf course you should make it shorter".

Golf is very unique though.  Unlike hockey, football, baseball and basketball every course is different.  It would be difficult to narrow down to one type of ball or one type of club.  But distance should be easy to fix.  Does the game need the manufacturers to thrive?

Yeah, I enjoy it too. Hardos hate on it since the Ams slow it down so much and they give so much time to them, but I could watch anyone play Pebble.

Have Day in my one and done, so in a good spot for the weekend.

I honestly wish they would show more of the amateurs....it feels like they barely show them most of the time unless it's Bill Murray.  Wish he would just go away.

Also went with Day in my one and done....he's looking really good so far.  Phil out there tearing it up as usual....almost went with him but got scared away since he's pretty much been garbage since this tournament last year.

Today was pretty painful. A top 5 course and you get some country star launching his putter 30 feet in the air, with multiple replays. And you get Larry the cable guy blading a bunker shot, bouncing off the grand stand to 15 feet. I only saw part of today but it seemed like a snl broadcast
