Was in the Bahamas last week and played the coolest looking course. Really reminded me of Pebble Beach with a lot of the back 9 being all up against the coast and stuff. Played a whole lot better than expected too. Love this sport.

Love courses on the water. Have played a few different spots with awesome views.

Well Olympic golf is officially terrible. Good things these guys are so concerned about their health that they aren't playing in the Olympics or vacationing in the Caribbean anymore....oh wait..

Hope Reed wins it. That would be awesome.

Sergio has endearing himself to me as well with his comments about playing. What is happening to me....

Is it the schedule or the drug testing that has these guys dropping out? Or both?

golf should never have been put in the olympics. the pros play every weekend for a million dollar check.

Shouldn't be any pros in the Olympics, in any sport. But yeah, this golf thing is a joke.

I like the concept of golf in the Olympics for the same reason I love the Ryder Cup. I think the format sucks and it shouldn't be a regular stroke play tournament. I think it's unfortunate that players aren't playing as it could be a lot of fun.

I think maybe if they added a team competition to the format, maybe more guys would have played? The way it is now is it's just another tournament in the middle of a really busy part of the schedule.

Yeah, they should have change things up. Watching teams of 2 play best ball against each other would be very fun.

Should definitely be a Match Play tournament of some sort. I'd be down with a two on two alternate shot set up.

Like you get a bronze for coming in 3rd and have a playoff for 3rd place? Dumb.

That said, I'll be all about it.

Rio should have built the course from Caddyshack 2. I'd watch!

McIlroy is now my favorite player. Loved his comment on watching the sports that matter in the Olympics (golf not being one). Golf is about the four majors and the Ryder Cup.

The Olympics won't even have the most difficult field for a golf tournament. Could not be more pointless. The Olympics should be the pinnacle for each sport and for golf it wouldn't even crack the top six events that year (Ryder Cup, 4 majors, players).

McIlroy needs to watch what he says. The Republic may toss his ass back to the North. lol

If he wants to pull out fine but don't disrespect your fellow countrymen.

I don't find the strength of field as the problem with golf in the Olympics.(The Masters field is one of the weakest on the calendar.) It's the format that bugs me.

Although I don't really care for Golf in the Olympics I can't blame the sport for wanting to be there. It is massive exposure for the big sports and will get people to watch golf who wouldn't otherwise. Ever since the Olympics started allowing professionals to compete this was inevitable.

I'm trying to come up with how many sports the Olympics is NOT the pinnacle for?
    1- Golf
    2-Basketball
    3- Ice Hockey
    4- Tennis
    5- Soccer

At this point I like NBC much more than CBS. CBS shows now golf and shoves narratives down your throat.
