Shot 87 yesterday..good for me...Had a guy ask me to turn down my bluetooth speaker..It wasnt that loud but his green was right by my tee box..I asked him if that was what caused him to be closer to my tee box than his green..he didnt appreciate that comment..

Haha. That’s funny as hell. People seem to be getting more uptight these days about music on the course. I don’t get it, but to each their own.

I’m old school and think there is no place for it on the course. If you need it, use headphones. It’s like the guy talking in the movies, it’s rude.

I was the same way for a while so I understand both sides. I’ve changed my stance and personally enjoy music while I’m playing. That said, I’m always respectful of those around me and never play music at high volumes. I think blaring music through a sub woofer on the course is ridiculous. On the flip side, I’ve had guys make shitty comments about quietly played music from an I phone when our cart is 50+ feet away. Those are the same guys that proceed to shank one into the next fairway. I always get a kick out of that.
On a scale of 1-10, I would say I had it at 2...I wouldn't have said a word had the guy not missed his green by 30 yards and said something first..We were polite enough to let him hit his shot before we teed off even though he was right in our line of fire and should have waited til we hit tee shots..I don't play music if its a high end course or a tourney.I can see both sides.
The good news is that Tiger is continuing to look healthy. He definitely is in the upper echelon of PGA players right now which is pretty amazing based on his health one year ago.
Played golf tonight and fell in love with my 4 iron hybrid. That just means a club I was hitting well before will not be good this time.
I really need to start playing. I’ve been buried with work and just not finding the time. I’m going to have to change that soon because golf weather is finally here.

Same here. Although I'm guessing most courses in the area are soaked right now with all this rain we've had the past couple days. Gotta get out there soon...
This Peterson story is awesome. Needs something like $350k over the next 3 weeks to keep his card. Said if he doesn't he's leaving pro golf and going into real estate. Much better story to pull for than Poulter and his Ferrari's keeping his card on some math.

Wow. Crazy story. Hope he makes it in golf rather than getting sucked into a career in real estate (which I am in) lol. What a drag that would be for him after being so close.

You’re right. Courses must be swamps at the moment. Or at least I’d like to think they are since I’m not out there.
Yeah, are you specifically looking for a resort? If so, we typically have headed down to the Virginia/Maryland area for those. I am sure there are some in PA but not as familiar.
If you are okay with an area with a high density of good courses, I can give some advice about the Philly area. Basically if you are around the area, play Glen Mills.
I was going to throw out Glen Mills as a suggestion too.
Some others in that area that I like are Broad Run and Loch Nairn.
Some good Pocono-area courses are.....
-Jack Frost Golf Club -Mount Airy Casino and Resort -Skytop Lodge -Country Club of the Poconos
Have heard really good things about Skytop and Broad Run. Not sure how I haven't played Broad Run yet.
Also, Scotland Run in Jersey is a course I like a lot.
Skytop is nice. Resort type of place where some holes are near condos and others go through the woods. Some cool elevated tee-offs where you can grip it and rip it. FAST as lightning greens too. Fastest of any Pennsylvania course I've played.
Broad Run is really nice, but it's also one of the hardest courses I've played.
Gilbersville Golf Club is a really nice 27-hole course in that area worth checking out as well.
Broad Run is a glorious. How does Glen Mills stack up compare to it? I have heard nothing but good things about that and also Sky Top.
Might be playing a course called Conklin Players Club in a couple months. It's in NY just over the boarder. Supposed to be realy good
Lol that's Binghamton basically. My hood. Conklin Sports Park right down the street. Spent many a many hours there from 4 years old to probably 22. Driving range, batting cages, mini golf, basketball, ice cream. Players club down the street. A nice course. Conklin sucks though.
Some good golf in that area. En Joie is where the BC Open was hosted (now a senior tournament). Saw Tiger there in 96. Lots and lots of good golf there. Lot's of the Freds (Funk and Couples). Got drilled by a ball hit by Peter Jacobsen. Felt like a serious bee sting. Sucked when it was opposite the British and was the death of the tournament.
Hiwatha links is another solid one.
Ely Park. That's my muni. Probably my favorite course in the world. Not necessarily for the course, which is a solid layout for a muni but So. Many. Memories. Hundreds of rounds, gambling on the practice area and when around 18 or so, the bar. Helped out with carts. Good times. That and the 9 hole St Lawrence State Park track at the Thousand Islands. That was me and my old man's spot. 9 holes followed by a hot dog and a coke then out on the boat to ski and fish.
Golf is the best. Ah nostalgia
What sucks about Conklin? Or do you mean the surrounding area? Because I think that's a great course (and I also like saying "Straight Outta Conklin" when I go there). Last summer, I eagled the par-5 9th hole after hitting the hybrid-shot to end all hybrid-shots on my second shot to leave myself a 5-footer for eagle.
Hiawatha and En Joie are nice too. It's been a while since I played En Joie so I can't really remember the particulars about it. But I played Hiawatha for the first time this past summer and really enjoyed it.
ALRIGHT FINE I MISSED THE FIVE-FOOTER FOR EAGLE ON NUMBER 9 AT CONKLIN AND SETTLED FOR BIRDIE THUS WASTING THE GREATEST HYBRID SHOT I'LL EVER HIT IN MY LIFE.
Yeah, the town of Conklin. It is a good course. I said that. Just the town.
I too have missed a 5 footer for eagle on a driven par 4.
So we booked a couple rounds at Conklin two weeks from now. Looking forward to it
This week is a little concerning for me as a Tiger fan. A couple of years ago Tiger sounded like a broken record with his "speed of the green" comments. Here we are again.
Probably my least favorite of the big tournaments outside of East Lake (if that is even considered a big tournament) and the PGA depending on the venue. At least that's still a major though. That said, always intriguing as there are so many different winners and such a good field with so much money on the line.
Tough to pick a winner. Not many repeats, but rolling with Stenson in my pool.

still wouldn’t play golf with her though
And I would gladly play a round of golf with her. She could probably teach me a thing or two.
