I am pretty certain that because the course is so short, there isn't going to be graduating rough and it is going to be brutal right off the fairway. Going to have to hit fairways.

    No idea on the greens.

Only 2 par 5's and they are very early. 2 and 4 I believe.

interesting ... i much prefer courses protect themselves with rough and greens than length ...

According to "The Bible"-aka Golf Digest- there are 4 different types of grass for the rough.
Apparently this will make it very gnarly and thick.
They also said the stimp meter reading would be 13 or 14.
Shorter courses are better.Keeps more players in the tournament.
They outsmarted themselves when they made length the no.1 priority.
If you don't get Golf Digest, you should at least pick up the 4 issues where they cover the Majors.
These previews are great-Masters and U.S. OPEN especially so.
Check out your local newstand now. ;)

Golfing tomorrow morning. Been playing pretty consistently lately. Not where I want to be by any means, but I'm typically in the mid to high 80's right now. Hoping to get it to high 70s to low 80s sometime this summer.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

    great article. thanks for posting.

just saw your post above about days you are going. I live fairly close to the course, going to be a clusterfuck in this area that week but looking forward to it. I'm heading to Friday's round.

for people coming from out of town they are parking them a fairly good distance away and shuttling them in which is going to add about 45 minutes easy to their commutes. I can't imagine what that is going to be like.

if you are coming from the city take public transportation before driving and parking at one of the off-site places.

Yeah, I will be there for a practice round and Saturday. Planning on taking public transportation. One of the trains gets you to about a 15 minute or so walk from the course from what I understand. Pretty pumped.

Some of the parking is at PPL. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk that.

yup PPL Park is one which means heading out will have to go back down the Blue Route to I-95. weeknights that is easy going to add 45 minutes to the commute. the other place is Rose Tree Park in Media on Route 252 which has signs up saying expect extreme traffic issues that week.

not sure if you saw this but below is a spectator information guide. gives you a map and such. I am assuming you are taking the Norristown Speed Line? if so that gets you fairly close and won't require a shuttle.

Ahh, yeah, got that with my ticket but haven't looked at it much. Highspeed line drops you off pretty much at the course, that's what I will be taking. Probably walk to Tired Hands and take Regional Rail home after.
