What are you talking about?? Schumer is correct. This isn’t a law. This doesn’t need a congressional fix. Trump can put an end to his own policy of separating children from their parents by simply telling his justice department to stop enforcing his own policy.

I think we really need to move beyond the Nazi Germany part of this. There is clearly a disagreement about the context of that being used as a comparison with some, even the early stages. Does it matter that much if we can agree what is happening is wrong and needs to be corrected? I find a lot of what Trump and his admin do to lean heavily towards fascism and dictatorship ruling, no comparison needed. All you need to do is look at what he has done or does to see the indicators. He admires people like Un and Jinping because of their absolute rule and lifetime hold on power. Most other countries and leaders are concerned about the way China is shifting under Jinping, but Trump makes sure to cozy up to people he knows will be in power for a long time and that he could partner with for his own personal wealth and gain. If a leader is not absolute, he dismisses them because they can't guarantee him anything beyond when they are the elected leader of their country. Nothing he is doing is for the "American people", it's for the Trump family legacy.

No one is saying he doesn't do that. This is about the comparisons being made. But that doesn't compare to the level of media control of other dictators he is being compared to. That is my point. He is being compared to dictators because of his control over media, but those others murdered people for saying anything negative and had full control over what was said. He just tweets "fake news," that hardly makes him Hitler.

Locked chain link enclosures that are 30’x30’ and cages sound a little different to me. Do you agree?

I would agree with that. Is it the fact it’s chain link that bothers people? Should they put up drywall aroundo it? Chain link is common when making holding facilities. I think calling it a cage is intentional to dehumanize the process. But this has always been done, holding facilities out of chain link is not new. The only thing new is the separation. But remember, there are more unaccompanied minors that show up than ones being separated, and no one ever had a problem holding them in “cages” before.

The process is already inhumane. It's the people that are being dehumanized by these actions, and by dismissal of what this is.

I think I've only seen 1 person on here say they are okay with the separation process.
But making false comparisons doesn't help either. How much time has been spent on discussing the Hit;er/Trump relationship instead of immigration? Calling a 30x30 femce a cage is part of that.
No one had issues with it and called it a cage until Trump did it. 

That's not true either. That was an issue under Obama when they were housing the unaccompanied minors in them. The courts made them stop doing that. Now, I haven't heard any complaints for continued use with adults...
