We moved out of state from Denver a few years ago, largely due to the increase of crime we witnessed. Within about 5 years the public parks and areas went from being a beautiful place to take a family, to being littered with used needles, homeless and tent cities and litter. A few months before we moved someone tried breaking into our house at about 10 in the morning. We learned he stole a car, crashed it through the fence of the house 2 doors down and was trying to flea. The cops did arrive and circle the neighborhood. They told us they had a good idea who it was and it was a homeless guy who does this all the time. Later that day we found some ditched items in our yard that contained stolen prescription drugs and other illegal items. We called the police to come collect them, they told us to just throw it away, they won't do anything with it. I was baffled, he clearly broke into other homes to get these items and this would be proof of a breaking and entering crime and can connect him to other houses with potentially open cases, but breaking and entering is such a "low level" crime now they don't even bother anymore and they are too understaffed to do much about it anyway.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -

VIOLENT CRIME. Local jurisdictions not making arrests for petty crimes like theft (big arrest last week. white couple, 8 million dollar theft ring.) for whatever reasons, take it up with that jurisdiction.
