It reminded me of a show I went to in the late 80s, it was Dio and Megadeth in Portland, ME on a cold January night. It was a GA show, so we got there early.
So, as we stood in line, some bible thumping minister was damning us all, screaming at us from about 25 feet away, telling us we were all going to hell. It went on for about a half hour.
Suddenly, one enormous dude with a booming voice stood forward and yelled "HEY!!!!!"
For a beat ... everyone stopped.
"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you, father!"
To which, all of this guy's friends started pelting this minister with snowballs.
I don't condone that ... but, shit, I did laugh.
Guess I'll be seeing Ronnie in hell.
I would've laughed my ass off too.
As for seeing Ronnie in hell, we both will. In fact, I'm fairly certain Ronnie is running hell now. Word around the campfire is that Satan shit his pants when Ronnie arrived.

Ahhh Religious Lunatics strike again. Although I would like to see the Sabbath/Dio crowd put in some work
According to the official web site of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) -- an independent Baptist church and hate group known for its hatred of homosexuals and its protest activities (which include picketing funerals) -- WBC is planning on picketing Ronnie James Dio's public memorial service on Sunday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m. at The Hall Of Liberty located at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California. What will presumably one of WBC's standard "peaceful sidewalk demonstrations" is meant to "remind you who worship that old Serpent, Satan, that your time is very short," according to a post on the "Upcoming Picket Schedule" page of the web site. The post continues, "You know 67 year old, Satan-worshiping (or at least one of their enablers) Ronnie James Dio (of showing his devil horns to the world each time he goes in public) BLACK SABBATH fame is dead, right? We'll be there! Just because the chances of any of God's elect being amongst this group of heavy metal sycophants is slim to none does not mean they should not get some good words."NERDS!0 -
Wow, and it goes on to say even more about RJD (in the name of God?!):
Here you have the list of admitted sins of this now dead and in hell pervert: 1) He hates his neighbor(s) starting with Ozzy Osbourne, and continuing down to his pornography star niece Gen Padova! 2) He hates God. Pay especial attention to the fact that he changed his original sir name from Padanova to Dio, which means "God" in Italian. 3)Ronnie the simpleton enabled, and encouraged Sorceries: everything he was about including the little finger horn thing (he got this from his mother which is an incantation to ward off the "evil eye") to the drugs, bloody raw meat and his fellowship with those pentagram necklace wearing freakish band members. Yes, Ronnie James Padanova (NOT DIO) is currently residing in hell.
Here's hoping that the good Lord has a special treat in store for these nasty, hypocritical people when their day comes."Hello Oregonians. Hello Washingtonians. Hello Portland..where the fuck are we? We're in Ridgefield!"0 -
A tribute to Ronny James Dio by Jorn and a nice set of pipes he has on vocals....

Oh man, hahahha. I really needed this laugh, so thank you, that was brilliant. Right now, VH1 Classic is airing "Tribute to Dio" and it is frustrating the hell out of me that we don't have VH1C (we rarely watch tv beyond sports, so we have the minimum DirecTV package).
Earlier today, I put all of my Dio albums on random on me iPod. What a catalog that man has. It is amazing. The last Dio solo record, Magica, is very, very good. I recommend any Dio fans go get it. Very melodic, a concept album. The last track is Dio telling a 20 minute narrative of the album's story.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -

it may be to early to be throwing around ideas for Ronnie's band mates but i have a big imagination and this amazing vision must be told.

could zakk be the new front man for heaven & hell?
yes he would still strum his guitar.
this could be some amazing music.
edit...
two superpower guitarists.
badassness like never heard before.
this could be catastrophic to one's stereo system and skull.
just think about it.

Because getting eaten by a dragon is a much more metal way to die.It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

I think it is very nice that they are holding a public memorial service. I bet it will draw way more people then expected.0
