ok thanks. i just couldnt think the sound as a whole would be bad.

I was in sec215 row V under this low drop ceiling a lot of echo really made for a frustrating listening experience but I rocked out all the same. So if you friend's mom was in the 200's in row S or higher the sound may have sucked!

We travel far, we love the shows. The band never disappoints but a set list is a very individual wish.
It's a wishlist! And it's a crapshoot too, never know if this is the time you'll get lucky with that special wishlist song.
So Hopes are high. The songs are very elusive and a couple of them, even one, would take the concert to a special amazing personal level.
Certain songs speak to the individual souls and the connection is great. Memories, moments from our lives, particular personal revelations pertaining to the songs. We just want/ need to experience them live, just once.
Someone mentioned in the thread rediscovering songs once you've heard them live, I agree. Some become more special and have that new memory connection. Nothingman, Hartford, would be that for me.

show #41 for me...definitely top five all time for me. great great show. crowd was unreal; gotta love a saturday night show. a 139XXX got me row 14 on the floor between mike and ed. loved unthought known as an opener. and no yellow closing the show!!!!

To each it's own But Amongst the waves is not a mood killer at all anyway it was a perfect show if you consider everything that goes into a show ,the people you meet the crowd and venue all these ingredients where perfect Saturday ,that same list with a dead crowd the show would of been mehh ..

I was 4th row center, the sound for the songs was fine, but had a hard time understanding what Eddie was saying between songs.

My now out-dated review. Visiting Providence and been busy with old friends, etc.

What an incredible night. Flew up from Houston Saturday morning - after US Airways canceled my flight on Friday night and had to scramble to rebook on Jet Blue - but I made it and it was well worth all that worrying (and money).

I LOVE the XL Center compared to the '06 and '08 shows at Dodge Music Center. $5 to park in a garage, Irish pub across the street for pre-show Sam Adams, nice part of downtown, great venue, GREAT seats. Section 104, row G, which was like 5 rows up but the first row behind a rail, so the few rows in front were lower. No obstructions, great view of the stage, really close. This night was off to a hell of a start.

Unthought Known is one of my favorite songs in a long time and it really worked as an opener. Hoping for Long Road in Boston though. Then right into Corduroy, Evolution, Got Some, Severed Hand, Dissident. They didn't come up for air until a gorgeous Low Light. The crowd was INTENSE. It's my 12th show and - other than some Backspacer tunes - no new songs for me until SATAN'S BED!! And what a bad ass version it was. Then right into LUKIN, or as Ed said "that one was called Satan's Bed, this is Satan's Kitchen, then straight into GONNA SEE MY FRIEND. Love that song and was hoping they'd finally play it this tour. What an end to the main set.

Obligatory Just Breathe to start the encore, but it was nice. Really is a beautiful song and the crowd loved it. Ed brought Tom Tomorrow on stage first and showd a vinyl copy of Backspacer, which Tom ended up handing to someone in the front row. Speed of Sound was not a favorite of mine on Backspacer, but was actually really nice sounding live. Probably enough said about Van Halen already, very random and they rocked it. PORCH is my all time favorite song and was awesome to hear, as always. Love the Ed guitar intro of years late. Ed used his guitar to create a spotlight on the crowd during Mike's solo, much to the enjoyment of the whole place. Towards the end of the song, Stone and Mike ended up on laying on the stage together, laughing as they played out the song on the ground. Looks like they fell, but I missed how they ended up going down.

2nd Encore and I'm checking my watch frantically as 11 pm approaches, hoping they sneak in a couple. The Fixer, then a wonderful CRAZY MARY, one of my favorites. Thinking the show is ending as they kick into Alive, but then the house lights come up for a beautiful version of Indifference, great crowd sing a long going on. Show over, right? But Mike is handed a new guitar and we get treated to All Along The Watchtower.

Amazing show! Lots of crowd interaction. Stone was bouncing all over the place. Mike was acting like a little kid on a sugar high, as usual, circling the stage, bouncing up and down, pointing at the sections around him, throwing hundreds of picks. Ed and Mike went to the back of the stage a lot to interact with the folks seated back there. Got 8 Backspacer songs, some of which made me appreciate the songs more after hearing them live - Johnny Guitar, Speed of Sound. Satan's Bed was definitely a highlight. Lots of crowd singing. Ed backed away from the mic several times as the crowd just took over some songs. During Even Flow, the crowd singing was so loud, he back off the mic during the verse and let us take it for a while. Crowd took over the end of Jeremy also.

Another great moment was Ed noticing the first couple of floor sections all holding BLACK RED YELLOW signs - a campaign I fully support. Ed says he can't read what it says and asks if anyone with decent seats has one. Some one tosses on of the signs toward him and he acknowledges that he can see what they want now. He smiles and nods, and says something like "Oh ok, alright.....we're not gonna play it, but alright. I don't come to your house and demand pancakes for breakfast." Hilarious. Maybe they'll throw us a bone and play it soon.

Great weather, great venue, great parking, great seats, great show. Really geared up for Boston tonight, then back to reality when I fly home tomorrow.

Everything sort of came together for a wonderful Sat night.

didnt go to the show but I agree 100% with the hate for the Dodge Music Center. I will never, ever attend a show there again.

The way the crowd was that entire night, there was no way they wouldn't sing back a part unless they didn't know what he was saying.

There's hate for that place? I had an amazing time back @ the '08 show there. After the amazing pre party we got to the place, scored a poster, hanged out outside for a while, then got in, scored a poster & food, saw the opening act & PJ. It was just a 10 minute walk to my hotel to the Sheraton. Surprised there were a riot @ the 10club line to get into the arena & the broken fence outside the place.

Yeah I didn't understand him either. I thought he was doing John Lennon's "Mother", but I guess he wasn't.

This was hands down the greatest show of my life.
I scored front row through 10club presale and the energy in the arena Saturday was amazing. I was in awe through the entire show.
Once in a lifetime experience.

Speaking of....Eddie passed his wine down to the crowd during that song! I got some passed around! One more reason this was a once in a lifetime show.
