Hershey PA 03. PJ phoned it. Can't figure out why they were there. I think they must have owed someone a favor. Added at the end of a tour. It was 2 months after the legendary State College show, so I was spoiled alittle. Ed even yelled a at girl if I remember right. The setlist was good. But the show was uninspired
Oh yea, I forgot about this show. Definitely ranks real low.

Don't have much credit since i've only been to the philly shows since 2000 however my least favorite philly/camden show was due to my own stupidity. (6-20-2008) My brother and i decided to give the ferry a try for the first time instead of driving through shit hole camden and to avoid looking at all the strung out prostitutes and crack heads....ugh....we were drunk as hell and made are way to the ferry and took a nice 20 min ride across the delaware river just in time to hear pearl jam step on stage and the roar of the crowd going ape shit....we stagger to the line, get to the ticket dude ,prepare ourselves for another frisk and quite possibly balls being fondled by the over zealous security, I reach into my back pocket and....WAIT A MINUTE.....Nothing THERE ! ! ! I left our tickets in the glove box of my car back across the Delaware river ! FUCK ! ! I couldn't believe it and it still haunts me to this day....we walked back to the ferry port but it kept such fucked up hours that by the time we got back to my car to get the tickets the concert was mid-way through....i still have the unused tickets in my glove box....it was probably the saddest day in my adult life. nothing worse than hearing your favorite band playing while seeing your car out in the distance but you can't get to it....wow i actually feel a little better now ! i've been holding this in for damn near 2 years now. talk about self-help
Your story is exactly the reason why I NEVER sleep the night before any concert or sporting event. I have this recurring nightmare...I'll be the tired old guy on May 20th...
Boreal '95...or at least thats what I keep trying to convince myself and my trading circles. That way I dont feel so much loss of what might have been.
JK, 81...my worst PJ show is better than any other rock show Ive never even seen.
Easily my least favorite, I was in the top row of the upper deck and I couldn't see shit! The band was pretty sloppy as well if I remember.

Rest of the night was kind of blah for me. The setlist was almost a repeat of the shows I caught in 2008. I'm not one to complain about the setlist most of the time, but for me it just wasnt happening that night.
I have the whole 2003 bootleg set and starting in Phoenix 2003 and ending in the show before, but not including, West Palm beach 2003, Ed was really sick. Those shows suffered. Phoenix 2003, I can feel pain listening to Ed in pain. Birmingham 2003, less than 2 hours, all greatest hits, reports of Ed hacking and puking between songs.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
yeah, you're right, but before it went off the rails with "the incident" it was a really good show. Could've been awesome.
I'd say MSG 9/10/98 - sound problems, never ending Ken Starr speech. I thought that sucked. Sorry PJ, can't win them all!
As we all know ther PROBABLY isn't a BAD PJ show. If you're asking what MY worse PJ show is, i would have to say LAST NIGHT at BRISTOW VA.(5/13/2010). Was a OK setlist at best(Small Town as the OPENER?), and the band just didn't seem as sharp as usual, though it did appear that ther were some early techno problems. I still would've made that 7 hour round trip to see that same show though !

Yeah, if I had to pick a bad one, this would be it. The security was non-existant, the crowd was out of control (too many rowdy college kids - storming the front of the sections, with no regard for any one else). And I had the displeasure of being near people who spent the entire time on their GDMF cell phones screaming, "i'm over here, (jumping up and down), NO, OVER HERE. The entire show.
My worst would have to be the Polo Grounds 6/22/95. If you dnt know why, then maybe youre not as big of fan as you claim!!!! Dnt get me wrong, seeing big daddy Neil play with the boys over 2 1/2 hrs was some sick ass shit but were talking pearl jam not Neil. Plus seeing them 2 nights before at the Cal-Expo rip shit up with bad religion was fucking the shit!!! Oh ya, and did I mention it felt like 120* on that field?!!!!
10/24/96 – Millstreet Arena: Cork, Ireland [106m]
attendance: 3,000
support act: The Fastbacks
set: Sometimes, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Hail Hail, Tremor Christ, In My Tree, Corduroy, Better Man, Not for You, Animal, Dissident, Daughter/(Bull in the Heather)/(WMA), Habit, Rearviewmirror, Jeremy, Alive, Porch
enc 1: I Got Shit, Lukin, Even Flow, Present Tense, Yellow Ledbetter
notes: This is a seemingly standard show, with little interaction or chat between the crowd and the band. Ed comments before ‘Better Man’ about how long the trip to Ireland was and how he felt like they were still at home with the rain, green terrain, great beer and good people. Stone gives a nod to Jack “on drums” at the end of ‘Daughter.’
i wish i wish i wish i wish, i guess it never stops
Not appreciating seeing Neil with Pearl Jam was just a failure of your taste in music.
I definitely didnt appreciate it at Toledo 04... Neil Young just isnt for everyone, so when you pay and go for a PJ show and get Neil Young w/ PJ backing up its not too great.
you never know what you will get with Neil. sometimes its nothign but horrible, save the rainforest type crap. but when he plays the good stuff he is awesome.
These threads are as useful as the 'best shows ever' threads since its all personal preference, but for me I'd say the only two shows that I would rank that way would be Lolla 07 (standard setlist and most of the crowd was talking to each other so loud it was hard to really get into it) and Toledo 04 (for the aforementioned reason that Neil Young hijacked the second half of the show).
But again... some people LOVE Toledo 04... its all personal preference. That took 'special guest' to a whole new level though... PJ was the special guest for the encores and Neil Young was the act...
Enough of this talk!!! What about motherfooking amazing unbelievable shows. i love the 3rd mexico show from 2003. all the tags!! unreal immortality, when the crowd bangs the seats to betterman, the betterman tag, amazing intro to rearview, mindblowing black, RITFW and fab Yellow led. me likey this show!!!

That's for one of the other threads. Christ, Pearl Jam doesn't shit gold bars you know.
Knoxville wasnt the best. they seemed to want to be anywhere but there.
It was actually a pretty good setlist, but Edward didn't really seemed pleased to be there.
They played Hard To Imagine and didn't play it again until '05.
Always a fun show for me.

This was my first show, but it was probably the weakest setlist wise. Only 20 songs and closing with Soldier of Love doesn't quite do it for me. Plus when I see the songs they soundchecked it could have been sooooo much better. Oh what could have been...
Uninspired blah. Only bad one I've been to though. Most were excellent. I've noticed that the band seems to be a little out of practice and Ed's voice may not be ready on he first few shows of a tour. I would actually prefer to wait for them to get into the groove of a new tour before they come my way.

I mean, aside from the drinking and driving taxi drivers, the rats and the bats; it had the most dickhead PJ fans I ever met.
I got separated from my wife and the hordes of people literally refused to let me leave and try and find her for six songs into the set.
I will never do a festival again.
