Just for the fun of it, if Pearl Jam were to record a new MTV Unplugged session, what would their setlist be? Seeing as their catalogue is huge now, I think we can give them double the songs - so list your 16 track MTV Unplugged setlist.

For what it's worth, here's mine:

MTV Unplugged 2 setlist:

1. Long Road
2. Hail Hail
3. Corduroy
4. Daughter
5. Immortality
6. In Hiding
7. Off He Goes
8. Better Man
9. Sad
10. Light Years

Encore 1

11. Thin Air
12. 1/2 Full
13. Black
14. All Those Yesterdays

Encore 2

15. Alone
16. Inside Job

  • no offense, but that list is horrendous.
I don't want to be hostile. I don't want to be dismal. But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existance either.
  • They allready recorded the second show.
    Benaroya
Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

I agree. Hail Hail, In Hiding, Sad, and Alone unplugged would all sound terrible. I'll take another Benaroya with some Long Road, Parachutes, Come Back, and some different covers.

Isn't there and Alone acoustic version out there somewhere? I remember it being pretty good.

I think you are right, but I don't see the band doing another rocking unplugged show like they did with their first one. It sounded horrible the first time, why butcher our ears with another.

It's already been done... it was called Storytellers.

ha ha - didnt think my set was horrendous! It's what I'd like to see anyway. It gets you thinking about setlists in a different way, seeing as you cant realistically include the likes of Blood or Animal - they WOULD sound odd in accoustic format... then again :-D

WMA would be interesting in accoustic.
  • hey, they did lukin acoustic... before that, you'd probably raise an eyebrow at the thought of that...

if PJ did a second mtv unplugged now i think the setlist would have to look something like this:

hit me baby one more time
    backstreets back
some creed song (gotta have something like PJ in there)
    sensual seduction
    some daughtry song
    some danity kane song
    some MCR song
    some FOB song
    soulja boy
    some ashlee lip sync song
some justin timberlake song (ill admit hes alright)
    some kanye west song
    some 50 cent song

    Encore

Very true, if you can play that and make it sound good in accoustic, then why not other heavier tracks?

Someone in the band thinks it really funny to draw people in for an acoustic moment and then bust out Lukin. They do it ALL the time: Benaroya, VFC Tour, Immagine in Cornice, Ed solo tour, etc.

add in "Everyone has AIDS" and "Only A Woman" from the Team America soundtrack and you've got a setlist and a half right there.

you have to remember if they played it on their first unplugged show they can't really play it again. also i'd just like to say their first unplugged show had an extremely poor choice of songs. wtf were they thinking putting evenflow, alive, porch, ritfw etc in there, they didn't work at all acoustic imo

here's my list, which i think is great cause all songs work well acoustic, and contains some rarities too. prob should throw a cover in there too.

  • I'd love to see another Unplugged PJ performance. At least re-run the old one on VH-1 classic instead of that Bon Jovi shit all the time. And to the clueless individual who thought the original unplugged performance sounded terrible get a f**cking clue. You call yourself a Pearl Jam fan. Anyways back to the good idea of a 2nd unplugged show: setlist-Footsteps, Oceans, Small Town, Crazy Mary, Immortality, Long Road, Dead Man, Around the Bend, Faithful, Drifting, Thin Air, Other Side, Thumbing My Way, Man of the Hour, Parachutes, Far Behind. It's straight forward, no breaks, stab you in the heart and leave you wondering what the hell did I just witness. And I think it shows a nice progression of the bands growth through their albums.
