I think the point they are making is the Phillies are generally bad at defense. They constructed the team knowing they would be deficient in that area, but that they could slug their way to the post season.tempo_n_groove said:

I thought the reason they stayed w Stott was for defense? His bat happened to come around, Bohm was abysmal the beginning of this year I believe but got better and made plays this playoffs.The Juggler said:
