    when did derrek lee quit being derrek lee :wtf: ? age? steroids? man, I can remember when that dude was SCARY.

    Good Morning Everybody!

    So, this is what post season success feels like. Ah!!!!

    I am too ecstatic to even care about the Yankees right now (although I think we have a shot, CJ has been almost as good as Lee this year).

    I was biting a towel through most of that game. Up until Kinsler hit that homer. That was when it actually started to feel real. Afterward, it still didn't feel completely real.

    Cliff Lee - "You either rise to the occasion or you crumble under it." Damn straight. I almost could not believe what I was watching last night. We are usually on the other end of such domination. The Rays looked completely helpless.

    Sorry to gush so much but after following my team since birth (they arrived in Arlington the same year I was born in Dallas), and never ever seeing them do anything, much less win a post-season series, I can't help it. 1996, 98, 99 were great, but we didn't have someone like Lee.

    Didn't see it, but it's because Josh Hamilton is a recovering addict. He had to stay in the office during the division celebration because he was afraid of the alcohol.

    I believe that the official excuse for Lee is that he was bothered by back problems all year. Don't know if I completely buy it, but that's got to be the most ineffective trade made by a postseason contender for this year. Also, not a good year for him to have in the final year of his contract.

    That's it. CJ Wilson's idea. He bought tons of ginger ale so Josh could participate in the celebration, and after he left to do a couple of interviews, they broke out the champagne. I thought that was a very classy move on the Rangers' part.

    Have a question - how's this MLB At-Bat work for iPhone? Will I be able to watch the Phils game on it? I've got a wedding, and am trying to figure out a way to watch the game. Of course there's the lobby bar tv, but I don't want to be a total dick.

    During the regular season there was 1 game a day you could watch in the app but it was always a shitty game. If you buy the MLB.tv postseason package you may be able to watch it through the app, not sure though.

    The $10 MLB at bat app will only have radio.

    Sucks dude. I have one next Friday that I don't think I will be going to if the yanks are in game 6.

    Yeah, it's not like I'm in the wedding. I mean, I don't need to be in my seat for all the cheesy speeches and shit. Figure dinner will be around 6, speeches at 7. Think I'm gonna slip out to the bar and make my appearances during commercials - top of the first, commercials doing the electric slide, back for the bottom of the first, commercials dancing with the loose single chick, etc. etc. Like I was never gone...

    my friend since we were 14 was getting married and i was one of the groomsmen...day of his wedding was the same day as game 6 of the 1996 world series...now i'm not a yankee or braves fan but it was the first time since 81 that the yankees had been in the series and i'm a baseball fan so i wanted to catch at least the end of the game

    so i get through the receiving line, dinner, toasts and the dancing starts...myself, another groomsman and another friend of the groom since we were 14, start to search for a tv in the country club...lo and behold, the bar! however, since it was saturday night, the bar was closed...but we managed to get the tv on and then in a stroke of genius, my buddy leans over the bar, pulls one of the taps and out flows hoppy goodness!

    so we light up a couple cubans my buddy brought and enjoyed unlimited pitchers of beer and watched the yankees win the series...by the time the game was ending, we had half of the wedding guests and several members of the country club watching the game and drinking beer

    still managed to see the bride and groom leave the reception and to this day, i'm not sure they know...and even if they do, i know they don't give a shit...but they're cool like that
