if he can get a hit in that many games, of course he deserves it.
Guys, relax. It ain't gonna happen.
seriously
check this shit out. fucking crazy. 13 K's is a 4 game series for ryan howard
Dan Uggla's hitting streak is at 33 games, a remarkable feat. Every time some hitter begins to climb the 56-game ladder built by Joe DiMaggio 70 years ago, it gives us a chance to appreciate what an incredible hitter DiMaggio was.
So far this year, Uggla has 494 plate appearances and 104 strikeouts. In the year of his 56-game hitting streak, DiMaggio had 621 plate appearances, and 13 strikeouts.
In the first seven years of his career -- before he began his military service in World War II -- DiMaggio had a total of 196 strikeouts.0 -
man, uggla just got robbed. what a grab.
0-2 through the 5th. beat it nerd0 -

really? so you're ok with a guy hitting .220 and striking out 20% of the time?
might want to re-evaluate your statement0 -

by nobody, i was referring to the players, managers, teams.
fans care, but players don't any more. used to be a big negative around K's, not so much todayPost edited by 81 on81 is now off the air0 -
Uggla isn't going to the hall of fame unless they have a criteria for guys whose last name starts with a U and ends with a vowel. Even if he went 1-for-5 in 56 straight games, it would still be a noteworthy accomplishment just because of the other good hitters in the Hall of Fame besides DiMaggio who haven't been able to do it.Reading 2004
