this could just be my twisted perception, but it always seems like it starts with a late night deal. then the shit hits the fan for 24 hours or so.

    it's coming

I agree that it always seems to happen at night, right as I am about to go to sleep. I check trade rumors on my phone, see a big deal, the procede to follow it for the next couple hours.

Tonight the night? Gotta happen soon, doesn't sound like much is brewing though.

might not be for a couple of days. the deadline on sunday kinda sucks. I like to have all this stuff going on during the week when I'm online more.

Probably the worst since the Galarraga call.

Heard he is the 3rd base ump in front of the Pirates bench today. Should be fun.

just saw it...what an abomination. could be worse than the galarraga call. the ball beat him by 3 feet! i thought clint hurdle's head was gonna explode.

sadly, this only gonna make bud selig more thirsty for a more vast replay policy.

    fuck...

i've only seen the score of the game. to play two plus games and lose on a bad call. fuck

I like this McKenry kid. He is fun to watch. and to catch all 19 innings and still go 3 for 7. hats off to him

give all the managers a challenge mechanisim. no balls/strikes, but safe vs. out. two a game would be more than enough. or one per game, that renews if you are correct.

That makes a little more sense. I didn't get the rental at all. And yeah, I guess I shouldn't be terribly suprised but Alex whatever his last name is has been going a decent job up there it seems. Shit, he got rid of Rios and Wells and their contracts, that is a small miracle

Sounds like Boras is running the show in the Beltran talks. That guy is unreal.

They are looking, but I think they are just window-shopping. Need some serious bullpen help.

They seem to be serious about Jimenez though.

This Jackson trade may involve Rasmus. This could begin to make things interesting.

I don't mind him as much as most, aside from his Arod world series stunt. His job is to get his players paid and he does that better than anyone. Gotta respect that.

there is also talk the Cubs are willing to eat a big chunk of the zambrano and soriano contracts to move them.

both would make me sad. it's fun watching soriano misplay ball after ball in left, and you can never have enough zambrano melt downs.

Jackson being flipped to Cards and Rasmus to Toronto. Cards are obviously going to get more than just Jackson.

Saw that about both of them. Not sure what team would want either without their contracts though.

I was always a fan of Soriano.

If that is the haul, AA just nutted all over the cards

Definitely agree with this, a challenge system would ensure that replay isn't being overused and it adds some more strategy to the game in deciding when to use your challenges.

fuck that. baseball doesn't need replays. if anything just put more umps on the field.

the nfl should be proof of how awful replay is

plus watching the manager/umpire arguments is great

latest rumor is beltran to SF for jon sanchez

I'm not a fan of sanchez, but that's not a bad haul for the mets.

regardless, it sounds like he's going to SF

I'd like to see MLB adopt a challenge system similar to what is used in NCAA football. Have a replay official in the booth whose only job is to decide if a play deserves to be reviewed. No replay on balls/strikes. Make every scoring play reviewable as well as fair/foul balls and out/safe calls at each base. Shouldn't take long to review since baseball plays are typically more clear cut than football plays.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

STL just got ass raped. This makes absolutely no sense to me. AA is a beast

The Cardinals will send Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet, and P.J. Walters to the Blue Jays for Jackson, Rzepczynski, Dotel, and Corey Patterson, tweets ESPN's Buster Olney. Olney adds that Miller is then expected to be traded to the White Sox.

Yeah, LaRussa is one smug sonofabitch who has wayyy too much say into how things are run there. Toronto is really taking shape.
