Probably a dumb question but do we know why Prince Fielder hates his dad so much?

Another deadspin article today says one is being made and the title is the best movie title ever. "Ellis, D". It doesn't get better than that.

phenomenal. wonder why it's taken 30 years or so though.

do you know if there's a book about it by any chance?

that story is tremendous. my favorite part is that when he woke up on game day he didn't even know he was pitching. his girl saw him as the scheduled starter in the paper. by that time he was tripping his ass off.

the quote 'we gonna do the do' is fantastic as well.

I read a while back that AJ was going to do it. The write up is much better than the video. Good stuff though.

Yeah, the whole Doc Ellis shit is great. Like I said, Deadspin had a write up today about how true the story is. It sounds like and what I believe is that he was coming down from a serious trip and most likely mostly on strictly greenies at the end of the game. Funny that a couple writers swear its true and some swear it isn't.

I keep quoting this deadspin article from today but they said there is a book he wrote where he claimed he was insanely hungover from back in the day, but he later claimed the only reason he said he was hungover and not on acid was because he was playing for the yankees at the time and he was scared of steinbrenner. Not sure about any other books, but this is pretty fantastic.

Baseball shouldn't be played indoors. I don't give a fuck if it's 962 degrees in the desert.

I guess beccause it's hot as balls all summer, that's all I can think of. I couldn't imagine playing 81 games in that heat but indoor baseball just blows.

He isn't that big of a guy and generates his home runs with bat speed. I love watching the guy play, but I just don't think he's built to succeed in a home run derby.

I don't think his pitcher did him any favors. you could tell he wanted balls middle in and the dude pitching was painting the black on the outer half.

anyway, this thing has been pretty shitty so far

I think he had Canos dad pitching to him too.

Kind of boring so far, no one's really wowing yet except for Cano, a few of those shots were absolute bombs, as a Yankee fan I didn't even know he had that kind of power.

I know they said it a few times today, and quoted Granderson, but I have definitely heard before that he puts on an absolute show in BP. I guess it's from that screen drill he does with K Long.

I thought I heard the announcers say it was the Blue Jays bullpen catcher.

I think I've seen him hit a shot a few times during the games.
