I think he's just saying Dombs usually empties the cupboard to load up for the present. What is the relation to you?
That is what the Padres did.  Emptied out the future for now.
    Hence the Dombs reference.

The Padres are giving up their 4 best prospects.  Hassell, Gore, Woods and Abrams.  They all were doing pretty damn well and I was surprised that Abrams wasn't called up.  Abrams could have moved to 2nd and that would have been one hell of an infield.
When did SD hire Dave Dombrowski as GM?
This must be a shot at me somehow? Considering he's w the Phillies.
Thought you were an Angels fan

Actually Dombs is out here making reasonable moves today, nice pickups on the cheap.

I am, but I do enjoy prospecting and baseball in general.  I am always curious as to what trades get done.  This is a huge one.

Also hot take: Phillies finally going over the luxury tax will make them realize it's not that bad and they'll do it more often.

The Thor experiment is now over for the Halos...  Angels might be doing a reset or making room for Ohtani?

Well we have Trout and Ohtani that have won mutiple MVP's over the years and the first dual player in 100 so, you know, let's not ignore that...

Ha.  OK.  We are fans, which of course stands for fanatics, which of course would describe the person who would compare a franchise with one World Series to an all time great.  ;)
