That's interesting about Mathews. Such a great stretch of HR seasons between he and Aaron.
My next card is an easier one. Al Rosen 1954 Topps. Should be able to go for a higher grade.
I'm looking for 3 cards right now all in PSA 10. 2013&2014 Topps Chrome refractor Mike Trout and a 2003 Topps Derek Jeter. Those 3 would complete my career runs of those players.
little late but congrats to Pujols on #700. I'm surprised he got there with like a week or two left.

Yup. So glad he got to 700 & don’t know when we’ll see that again.
Very true. Right now, I think Soto and Vlad Jr have the best chance to reach 700. I wouldn't bet on either though.
I was looking to see how close Mark McGwire. I knew it was in the 500s. There some injuries plus the lockout that made him not get over 600. I saw he was 2nd in the MVP voting the year he hit 70. And his numbers were better than Sosa's. Is it because the Cubs went to the playoffs and the Cardinals didn't or that Sosa was an outfielder?

my guess would be because the Cubs made the playoffs and the Cards didn't. I don't think the position has too much to do with voting.

Sometimes it does I think. Outfielders are treated better than first basemen. Mark should have won it that year.
Guy#1: "Aaron Judge tied the REAL home run record." Guy#2: "No Hall of Famer player has ever hit 73 home runs in a season." My brain: "Who's gonna tell him?" Me: "No Hall of Fame player has ever hit 61 home runs in a season, either."

HA! That's great!
73 is the record but yeah, no HOFer hit 61 either, lol!
If it wasn't for Judge this year, yes I would give Ohtani the MVP again. 30+ HR and a 2.35 ERA? Unless a record is broken if he plays like this I'd give it every year to him.

Hard to argue with that & I agree. It'll be interesting to see how long he can stay at this level with both pitching and hitting.

Now we have next year...
If, and like Wobbie says, I say this every year... IF we can pull together a season where the stars stay healthy like in the beginning even when we didn't have Rendon, the Halos can compete.

Nevermind. I forgot Aaron started in 54 and Matthews in 52!
