When have the umpires ever done anything right in the playoffs?

true...but 3 consecutive calls involving the same player is something new
Agreed, but I want Halladay to get a world series ring so he can eventually come back to Toronto. So I'm not going to complain.

I'm surprised they ejected Cox. This could be the second last game of his career and they wouldn't let him stay in passed the second.

He would have been ok, had he not thrown his hat. Loved the "fuck" as he was walking back to the dugout

He should do that during game three if they're down a bunch. It's not like the league can suspend him for it.

listen to his post game interviews/press conference. gold. the man should run for office.

in all seriousness, he did what a true leader would do in those circumstances. the ball may have grazed his jersey, but he sold the ump by immediately running to 1st. then he may have been out at second, but he sold the ump by popping up so quickly like he expected to be safe. umps are human. they make mistakes and can be influenced by the slightest little things. utley is the man. and the phillies are the fucking shit.

    that is all.

    good night.

The best part about it was he told the umpire he got hit. Funny shit - like he said "I got hit, I'm going to first base, and there's nothing you can do about it."

I still think he was safe at 2nd. As for the HBP and 3rd base - I have no idea. It's hard to believe the ball could've hit him. If you look through the Yankees thread, when Jeter did his acting job, I said I thought Utley would do the same thing.

I guess you have to kind of feel bad for him, but three errors in a single game??? He does not get paid that salary single handedly botch that game. He no longer deserves a roster spot in my opinion...back to the minors!

I want to fast forward to tomorrow night.

If they are going to choke, then let's just get it over with and go back to being the Rangers I know and love - 40 year losers. And I can go back to being a miserable Cowboys fan until next spring when I drink the red Ranger Kool-aid and fall for it all over again, worse than Lewis Black with candy corn.

And if Cliff Lee somehow pulls us through (fuck it, I said "us" and I don't care), then I will get shit-faced and party until 2:00 AM and finally know what it is like to taste ALCS baseball.

    Where is the remote?

I just hope we aren't putting too much pressure on him. After this terrible sports weekend, the entire DFW area is laying their hopes on his back. He seems up to it though. He even said yesterday that he isn't changing the plan. He said he is going to pitch the exact same pitches in the exact same sequences until they prove they can adjust, and then he will adjust.

We don't know what it is like to have a guy like that on our team, with that kind of confidence. He is the first true #1 ace we have ever had who is in his prime when he is here.

Thanks! Just wish they didn't have to travel back to that toilet they call a baseball stadium down there.

Heavy drinking begins tonight. Will it be joy or sorrow? If I don't post anything for a couple of days, y'all will know why.

One thing is for sure, I am done predicting things on here and everywhere else. The Cowboys have gone downhill and the NFL is a mess in general. I thought for sure the Rangers would beat the Rays this weekend if not Saturday then certainly against Davis who they have absolutely torched before. And with Hunter who last had a complete game in 105 degree heat against these same Rays.

    But what do I know?

Give us your best shot Mr. Lee.
